With globalization gaining its speed, there have been close exchanges and interactions in all aspects of culture, technology, economy, etc.between countries.Education is the top priority and the foundation for a country. While strengthening its own education,China has introduced a large number of excellent foreign teaching materials to vigorously develop education.Molecular biology has developed rapidly in recent years and has influenced various different subjects. In this regard, experimental textbooks of molecular biology are emerging consistently domestically and internationally. This thesis is a translation report on the third chapter of the reagent preparation method in the book "Basics of Molecular Biology Experiments" published by Japan's Shujunsha. This chapter mainly contains vocabulary and syntax problems,in which the terminology is widely used.In view of these problems, the corresponding solutions are summarized, such as: term translation,part-of-speech conversion and other methods to solve vocabulary problems;for the syntax aspects, the literal translation is adopted;besides,a combination of literal translation and free translation as well as the translation theory of faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance are also used according to different situations.According to different syntax, the relative translation method is adopted to make the translation smooth while ensuring the quality of the original text. This thesis is composed of five parts. The first chapter is an introduction, which mainly gives a brief description of molecular biology and the main purpose of the translation practice.Chapter two is an introduction to the translation process, which mainly describes the preparations before translation, the translation process and post-translation work. The third chapter is the comparison and principles of translation theories,as well as the principles of translation theories. The fourth chapter is the most important case analysis of this report, mainly focusing on the rectification of professional vocabulary and the places that need to be paid attention to when translating.Chapter 5 is a summary of translation practice, summarizing the gains and experiences of this translation practice.
