Research On Poster Design Based On Character Avatars

Portrait-based designs are widely used because of their strong visual impact and appeal,especially in the creation of posters and print advertising.This article summarizes the use and development of poster design with character head as the main body from the art form of the portrait towards the combination with the poster.This paper discusses the visual and cultural causes of the head portrait from the perspectives of physiology,decoration,expression and cultural symbols.Different perspective determines the composition of the character's head to some extent and produces different visual sensory effects.In the creative composition part of poster design,we focus on the selection of the reversal of the bottom,the cutting of the head and the combination of multiple heads.When the head portrait is the main element of the poster,the pictures and words in the poster combine around the head portrait and create additional effects.Because in the design of print advertising portrait is widely used,many advertisements and magazine covers are willing to use it in a creative way.It is necessary to compare the similarities and differences of the arrangement and design of the characters in advertisements,magazine covers and posters.In this paper many classic and fashion cases are brought together in order to analyze the design rules and aesthetic principles of the poster.The graduation design will combine the related research of this thesis with the current "One Belt,One Road" policy.Each poster contains two head portraits.Sharing facial features makes the characters closely connected and indivisible.It also means that “One Belt,One Road” initiative has brought more exchanges and integration of more national and ethnic cultures.
