Viewing The Voice Of "depression": A Study On The Visual Performance Of Psychological Emotions In Patients With Depression

The development of the time is rapidly.Social changes have altered the way of life and thinking of contemporary people.At the same time,however,the pressure and difficulties they bring about have also caused psychological problems such as depression to rage in the inner world of the public.Depression is a mental illness characterized by long-term low mood.It is invisible but threatens the mental health of contemporary people.The patient's depressed mood ranges from depression,insomnia and anxiety to low self-esteem and schizophrenia,and gradually deteriorates into the act of committing suicide,which has brought endless pain to themselves and their family.Depression is in the common category of both physical and mental illness,and it is the result of many factors such as physiological,psychological,and social environment.Although genetic factors are the congenital condition in many cases of depression,acquired environmental influences are equally important.The stress of life,the humiliation of others,the painful journey,and the grief of losing relatives and friends are all external causes that lead to the outbreak of depression.In addition to the harm to the patients themselves,the social complications caused by depression are also worthy of attention.The conditions that could have been prevented and treated early are worsening due to the public's incomprehension and ignorance.The rising pressure is its petri dish,the bullying of social life its catalyst,and the incomprehension of relatives and friends ignites its safety fuse.The public's misunderstanding is like an invisible curtain wall,creating barriers between the patients and the world.With the patients' true emotions difficult to express,their fragile heart constantly takes hurt.With this in mind,the author takes "Uncurtained Depression: The Visualization Study of Depression Patients' Psychological Emotions" as the topic.From the perspective of this profession,we want to let the public see the patients' psychological emotions through visual design,and understand the patients themselves and their symptoms.Hopefully,the introspection and compassion shall become an understanding of the patients,and reduce the obstacles and pains of them.In this work,the author tries to use professional knowledge to explore the empathic design and expression of abstract psychological emotions in concrete visual language.In terms of design thinking,by visualizing the psychological emotions of patients with depression,exploring the relationship between the psychological emotions of depression and visual manifestations,the emotional feelings of patients are visualized,and this also show the audience the difference between the public and patients' thinking,thereby triggering viewers' understanding and emotional resonance.In terms of design and creation,we try to design posters for 13 psychological situations at different stages through creative expressions of graphics,tones,and presentation forms,and try to explore the possibility of empathy design in the creation of interactive poster forms to enhance audience viewing time.The sense of experience and immersion of the patient opens the door to mutual understanding between patients and audiences.
