Fang Yue is a famous writer in the Southern Song Dynasty,especially famous for his poems,and his achievements in prose creation are also worthy of the world's attention.Fang Yue has thirty-three volumes of essays,which are not only large in number,complete in genres,and diverse in types,but also outstanding in literature.The academic circles have always paid attention to his poems,and the attention and research on prose is still relatively weak.In view of this,this article selects Fang Yue's prose as the research object,and discusses the five aspects of Fang Yue's prose writing background,prose thought content,prose theory,prose artistic characteristics,and prose value.The introduction part mainly clarifies the research object and research significance,and combs the research status of Fang Yue's literary creation according to the research content of the predecessors.At the same time,it briefly discusses Fang Yue's life and writings.The first chapter mainly discusses the writing background of Fang Yue's prose,which are:the background of the times,the background of the region,and the background of communication.Mastering the background of Fang Yue's prose creation is an important foundation for studying his prose.The third section mainly introduces the relationship with Zhu Xi and the communication with his disciples.The communication with the monks and wild old men made his prose integrate the three schools of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism in the ideological and artistic characteristics,and more truly reflect the life and mentality of Confucianists at that time.The second chapter sorts out the ideological content of his prose from four aspects:economic proposition,political proposition,military proposition,and literati's daily life.Fang Yue spent half of his life on the battlefield,the officialdom was tossed around,and the folks lived in seclusion.His experience was very rich.Therefore,the content of his prose was very close to life and could truly reflect the life of politics,military,scholars and ordinary people in the late Southern Song Dynasty.The third chapter discusses Fang Yue's prose creation theory,mainly including the relationship between literature and morality,opposing weirdness,advocating understanding and understanding,and prose should have "qi" and so on.Fang Yue's prose creation not only reflects the Neo-Confucian's thinking about the relationship between literature and Tao,but also reflects the profound influence of Cheng-Zhu Neo-Confucianism on his theory of subject cultivation.The fourth chapter mainly discusses the artistic characteristics of Fang Yue's prose.The main characteristics are various forms of argumentation,flexible allusion,imaginary and quiet communication,and historian's narrative style.The creative characteristics of Fang Yue's prose are in line with the overall characteristics of prose creation at the end of the Song Dynasty,and can improve the artistic conception of prose creation with the detached literati spirit.The fifth chapter discusses the value of Fang Yue's prose,discusses the literary value,folk value and philology value of Fang Yue's prose.As a writer in the late Southern Song Dynasty,Fang Yue's certain essays can indeed make up for the historians' shortcomings.
