Since the new millennium,Chinese contemporary culture is showing a diversified trend of compatibility between Eastern and Western cultures,a mix of modern and postmodernist thoughts,and the coexistence of art and commerce.Therefore,a striking cultural phenomenon in Chinese movies is the flourishing of dialects.The use of dialects in film creation has become a common artistic choice for many directors.While pursuing realistic aesthetics,they have created a large number of high-quality works.Chinese films with dialects as the main dialogue have once again developed and grown.After that,the social and cultural environment provided a broad audience base and commercial drive for the development of dialect phenomena,and produced many commercial films that cater to audience entertainment,popularization,and spectacle,and a considerable part of them achieved box office performance and artistic effects.Driven by modern media and capital markets,in the context of popular culture involving the general public,dialects,as the carrier of popular culture,are widely used in the creation of movie texts.Although dialects are not the mainstream in film creation in terms of quantity,they have won the recognition of the audience and the market by virtue of their sense of authenticity and intimacy,and they have become a force that cannot be ignored in Chinese films.The foundation of film development is inseparable from the theoretical basis,and the grasp of the state of the film cannot be separated from the theoretical basis.The theoretical basis to guide the development of the film has an important position that cannot be ignored.Due to the emergence of the dialect phenomenon,the Chinese film industry has produced two different arguments.One believes that dialect films have the value of regional cultural communication,which promotes the exchange between local culture and mainstream culture,and also makes the film from image shaping,plot promotion,dramatic effects,etc.On the one hand,it has created a more vivid and unique audio-visual feast.one thinks that there are many types of dialects in my country,and cultural exchanges mainly rely on Mandarin.The appearance of dialect phenomenon is not conducive to cultural communication.In addition,some movies blindly cater to the audience,and the exaggeration,far-fetching,and abuse of dialects not only affect the aesthetic experience,but also further cause aesthetic fatigue and form communication constraints.Although some scholars have paid attention to the phenomenon of dialects in Chinese movies and carried out further research on them,because of the late start time,dialects are not a mainstream cultural phenomenon.Therefore,the theoretical research is not deep enough and not comprehensive enough.This article will take the Chinese films since the new millennium as the research object and the development process of the dialect phenomenon as the breakthrough point,from the perspective of the mechanism and aesthetic effects of the dialect phenomenon.At the same time,it discusses the exploration and reflection of the current film dialect phenomenon,hoping to help the Chinese film dialect use.
