Cao Cao was given the famous label of having the emperor in one's power and order the dukes about in his name. However,Yuan Shao had planned to receive Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty, but he finally allowed his ally Cao Cao to meet Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty after considering some factors such as distance and war, etc.Cao Cao once again controlled Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty, who had just escaped from the clutches of warlords. At the end of the first year of Jian'an,he implemented a series of improper policies, offending Yang Baio, the leader of intellectuals, and Liu Xie,Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty. This is the root of the conflict between Cao Cao and the scholars,so Cao Cao,who was "virtue does not deserve office",had to start to crack down on his opponents through the rule of "laws and regulations".Yang Xiu,the son of Yang Biao,Kong Rong,Cui Yan and other celebrities died under Cao Cao's harsh governance.Meanwhile,Xun Yu did not expect Cao Cao to organize the world's strongest power group in the future when he defected to Cao Cao at the very beginning. As family of Xun in Ying Chuan and Yuan Shao group has always had close ties, they were going to continue to cooperate with each other in case Yuan Shao emerged victorious in the war in the end. However,Xun Yu did not support that Cao Cao in his promotion to Wei Gong after Yuan Shao was defeated, and it was too late to restrain Cao Cao at this time, thereby leading Cao Cao and Xun Yu's complete break with each other.Cao Cao has been unpopular in the court since he became an official in Duxu, besides, there were many opposition forces against him even after he became King Wei,therefore,he dared not to proclaim himself emperor on behalf of Han in his whole life.
