The source text is the “Trees in a Warming World”,fifth chapter of the environmental science book Trees and Global Warming: The Role of Forests in Atmospheric Cooling and Warming written by William J.Manning.This chapter focuses on forest decline and loss, including drought, wildfires and tree diseases.Combining the characteristics of the text, firstly, the translator adopts conversion and contextual analysis to translate the comparative adjective.Secondly, the passive voice is translated into explicit passive sentences, completely invisible passive sentences and active sentences.Last but not least, the translator also explains the logical relations from two aspects, that is,within and outside sentences,to realize the explication of the logical relations. This report tries to provide some material support for scholars in related fields and references for future translations in this area.
