In the early 18 th century,Jin Changye,a representative scholar of the Joseon Dynasty, went to China with the mission. When he arrived in Beijing,he left two books called "Records of Yan Xing Xun Lu" and "Old Jiazhai Yan Xing Diary".These two "Yan Xinglu" record Jin Changye's experiences in Beijing in detail. These narratives of the "other" —the Qing Dynasty are influenced by his concept of subjectivity, and at the same time reflect his "self" —the image of Korea that Jin Changye had and should have in his mind. From the perspective of comparative literature imagology, this paper examines Jin Changye's "other narrative" about the Qing Dynasty society and his "self-talk" about North Korea in his Yanxing experience, and analyzes his subject consciousness centering on the interaction between the two.The main body of this thesis is composed of 3 chapters. In the first chapter, starting from the change of Jin Changye's understanding of internal and external and his own spiritual consciousness in the era of Jin Changye, the subject consciousness of Jinchangye is investigated based on the historial facts. In the second chapter, applied the comparative literature imagology method, through the records of Yan Xing Xun Lu Lu and Lao Jia Zhai Yan Xing Diary,it is discussed how Jin Changye described “others”,such as the Qing Dynasty's society and Manchurian that he observed, and how to speak to the "self" of North Korea through these other images. In the third chapter, combined with the variation theory of comparative literature, through Jin Changye's political reflection on the pirate issue, the border issue and the Wu Sangui incident, and further discuss the characteristics of Jin Changye's subject consciousness in the interaction of the two,and analyze how the author constructed foreign images and realized self-reflection.
