The scientific research report Educ-AI-tion Rebooted? published by NESTA describes different categories of AIEd tools being used in schools and colleges and outlines their potential effects on learning,teaching and education system,forwardlooking the opportunities and challenges brought about by AI.This translation can be of great reference value in the studying of AIEd in China and can also promote exchanges and cooperation in the field of education and technology.The source text is informational text which aims to convey information to its readers.Therefore,in great accordance with Functional Equivalence theory,case studies focus on translation difficulties encountered in the translation practice,such as non-finite verbs,passive sentences and discourse connectives at lexical,syntactical and discourse levels and then translation techniques and methods related to the specific text are summarized.For instance,conversion is employed to translate non-finite verbs so as to reproduce the original meaning;translation methods like splitting and recombining are adopted to improve readability of the translation of passive and complex sentences;anaphora and repetition are used for the coherence of the translation and to reoccur the frame and information structure of the source text.This report can be used as a useful reference and guidance for the Chinese translation of same type of informative texts in the future.
