The 2021 Berkshire Hathaway General Meeting Of Shareholders Will Provide An English-Chinese Translation Of The Practice Report

This report is based on the practice of English-Chinese consecutive interpretation of the 2021 Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting.The report mainly covers four aspects: brief account of interpreting task,description of interpreting process,case analysis,and summary of the practice.Induction and simplification method and information materialization method are adopted to deal with the problems of redundancy of source language and the pronouns of source language.Word order adjustments and free translation method are adopted to deal with the problems of unclear logic translation and translationese of the target language.In the process of the practice and the analysis and summary after the practice,the author has accumulated a lot of interpretation experience and improved interpreting level.Hopefully,the problems and countermeasures discussed in this report can provide corresponding references for interpreters in solving similar problems encountered in the process of English-Chinese consecutive interpreting in the future.
