Born Of Worry

"Sorrow for life" is the theme of Ruan Ji's "Yonghuai Poems",but the connotation of Ruan Ji's "Yonghuai Poems" is far more than the anxiety for the passage of life.Ruan Ji tried to find his place in the world.The strong consciousness of life runs through Ruan Ji's thought from beginning to end,and this philosophical spirit is prominently embodied in the poem "Yonghuai Poems".Ruan Ji's realm of existence is the realm of relationship.In terms of the relationship between the group and himself,the relationship between man and nature,and the relationship between body and mind,he still struggled to survive despite his worries."Yonghuai Poems" embodies Ruan Ji's thoughts and emotions,with immediacy and contradiction.Ruan Ji always unconsciously measured himself by the traditional norms,but at the same time he was eager to get rid of the yoke of such influence,so he always lingered between Confucianism and Taoism.In the face of those who are seeking fame and fortune in the crowd,he exclaims that "it is difficult to make friends",comparing himself with "lonely bird",and the eternal loneliness in his heart becomes a safe haven.He turned to envy the greatness of the immortals.But "rather fly with the little birds",he chose to retreat and "not fly with the big birds",which was also caused by the fate of the time."Nobility depends on destiny,adversity and greatness depend on fortune",so we should follow the nature,be content with our time,and know our destiny.However,the personality types of scholars,hermits and woodcutters are all limited by the view of "Da Ren Xian Sheng",who transcends worldly life and death.But his ideals do not exist in reality.These thoughts are contradictory but still real.Ruan Ji not only worries about the fate of the individual,but also pays attention to society.He replaced the traditional way of educating people by music with the natural inaction of Tao and "spiritual peace".He hoped that The Confucian Ethical Code could be natural and harmonious.However,when he found that his conception of the society was just a fantasy,he turned to rage against the hypocritical Confucian Ethical Code.The root of all Ruan Ji's contradictions can be attributed to the contradiction between body and mind.The psychological state of being afraid of all kinds of worries was caused by the contradiction between Ruan Ji's body and mind,which was mainly affected by emotional fluctuations and desire stimulation.How to solve the problem? He affirmed the harmony of body and mind,while emphasizing the dominance of the human spirit as the "root of nature".He also needs to preserve the body,so he needs to be cautious.The important role of the mind is that it can transcend the boundaries of time and space,giving people a moment of transcendence.Therefore,the process of poetry creation and philosophical thinking,such as "Yonghuai Poems" and "Biography of Da Ren Xian Sheng",can make the mind get a short rest.Drinking and the wild behaviors of "moral code is not made for us" are the natural reaction of the violent conflict of body and mind.This is the reflection of moral code,the pursuit of the true nature,is the promotion of self-awareness.However,all kinds of methods that Ruan Ji seeks can only bring temporary transcendence and self-deceptive relief,and can't really bridge the rift of contradiction between body and mind.Ruan Ji fell into the ultimate contradiction and loneliness.Tragedy will never end,but Ruan Ji's artistic charm is derived from this.
