This thesis studies the conventionalized constructions of negative evaluation in modern Chinese, which do not use derogatory words, but carry the dissatisfaction, irony, blame and blame of the speaker.People can grasp the negative connotation on hearing these constructions. These short and lean constructions are frequently used in daily life.Conventionalized constructions of negative evaluation have undergone different degrees of normalization so that their meanings and functions become very different from literal meaning. To the best of our knowledge, few researches have studied the Chinese negative evaluation constructions systematically. The article defines the normalized constructions for negative evaluation, selecting 16 constructions as the research objects of the article,we divide these constructions into four categories according to their formal characteristics: abbreviated, question mark,"you" and "NP".It is pointed out that they have the characteristics of coagulation,non-derivation,and indirectness of meaning. The formation of negative evaluation normalizing constructions is related to the components that activate negative meaning, pragmatic principles, psychological expectations and contextual absorption within the constructions.Interaction also plays an important role in shaping the formation of normalized constructions of negative evaluations. While the questionnaires presented in this paper show that negative evaluation regularization constructions are highly acceptable. These constructions violates the politeness principle and encode offensiveness to some extent. In addition, different groups of subjects show variation among their understanding and usage of negative evaluation regularization constructions.
