Higher vocational colleges are important bases for cultivating applied talents,are also important bases for cultivating and promoting legal education.Yunnan Province is a place of special geographical location,which is characterized by strong ethnic customs,diversified economic development and distinctive vocational education.It is of certain significance to study legal education of higher vocational colleges in Yunnan Province.This paper will present situations and problems of legal education for higher vocational colleges in Yunnan province,analyze its status quo through the methods of literature review,the questionnaire survey,data analysis,comparative analysis and other research methods,and will put forward comments and suggestions.In addition to the introduction of the first part and the conclusion of the sixth part,the main body of this paper is divided as follows:The first part is an overview of legal education in higher vocational colleges.Higher vocational colleges have the following characteristics: the school orientation is targeted to cultivate skills,the grades of cultural courses among students are generally poor,the adequate theoretical teaching is advocated and the teaching level of legal education is not high.The content of legal education in higher vocational colleges should meet the students' need of employment and life,and the teaching methods should be based on case guidance.The legal education in higher vocational colleges is both an important component of national education and an important content of good personal development.The main contents of legal education are concept education,legal knowledge education and practical ability education.The second part investigates the current situation of legal education according to the school settings for higher vocational colleges in Yunnan Province from the aspects of students' demand of legal education,the specific situation of carrying out legal education,the factors affecting legal education,the student evaluation,the effects of legal education and so on.The third part analyzes the status quo of legal education for higher vocational colleges in Yunnan Province.Students there have the basic concept of laws and legal knowledge,and a strong willingness to learn.While problems still exist,mainly are the lack of legal educational methods,inadequate learning intensity and inefficient effect.The main factors that restrict the development of legal education for higher vocational colleges in Yunnan province are the unspecific design of legal educational system,the poor implementation of legal education,the insufficient guarantee measures of the legal education,and the influence of local customs.The fourth part puts forward suggestions of perfecting legal education in Yunnan higher vocational colleges.It suggests to design a legal educational system for higher vocational colleges,to add the relevant legal knowledge of the industry,procedural law and as regards the customary to the teaching content and to compile the practical teaching materials accordingly.In terms of teaching methods,typical cases that are carefully selected based on the characteristics of higher vocational students,apps,network resources and TV program resources should be fully used.Moreover,students can be properly organized as attendees of court hearing according to actual and specific conditions.In order to guarantee the process of legal education,the top-level design and the construction of teacher group will be also strengthened.
