Research On China's Soft Power Diplomacy Towards Africa Under The Background Of "One Belt One Road"

Soft power is mainly manifested in the aspects of the approval political ideas,the influence of economic development,cultural communication,value attraction,the ability to formulate international agenda and international mechanism,and how to shape the image of a great power.The research about soft power has more practical significance in new age of peace and development and means a lot to the development of diplomatic relations and foreign policy.Nowadays,China-Africa relations have made remarkable achievements through cooperation in various field,it also restates the construction process of Chinese soft power.However,this cooperative relationship has been suspected by Western countries for "neo-colonialism","hegemonism" and "despotism" of China.Meanwhile,it has also aroused the concern of African countries about China.Based on this,the promotion of Chinese soft power is an appropriate way to solve the problems in China-Africa diplomatic relations,clear up misunderstandings by soft power diplomacy.Based on the concept of soft power and relative theories,this study concludes the review of China-Africa relations and what kind of soft power generated in the history between China and Africa,the new development and challenges of China-Africa diplomatic relations in the new era.Then it regards soft power diplomacy as a way to solve the current problems in the development of China-Africa relations and revolves around the related content of soft power diplomacy.As a strategic partner of Africa,China has made a lot of efforts and attempts to spread soft power in Africa to increase mutual understanding and trust,most of all is the practice of promoting Chinese soft power to Africa and its influence under "Belt and Road" initiative,for example,the convergence of Agenda 2063 and Belt and Road Initiative,the institutionalization of Forum on China-Africa Cooperation,culture exchanges and assistance to Africa(especially medical assistance to novel coronavirus infection).All of them make up Chinese soft power diplomatic system and basic components that we can admire their good influence.There are still many gaps and deficiencies that can be analyzed by three sides of China,Africa,internationality.Therefore,in the above practice process,Chinese policy suggestions on the dissemination of soft power in Africa are putted forward to face the challenges in China-Africa diplomatic relations and create better future of China-Africa relations.
