The Basic Education Curriculum Reform Outline(trial)issued by the Ministry of Education has clearly pointed out that “comprehensive practice activity course” shall be set up from primary school to senior high school.After the issuance of this document,curriculum reform was initiated in different places of the nation.To date,comprehensive practice activity course still face various problems.For instances,focusing on theory while neglecting practice;activities in the course are form-oriented,which leads to poor application performance and little effect;interaction between teachers and students is insufficient;evaluation methods on students' performance are to be diversified.All of these shortfalls hinder students' development in different aspects.To change such situation,this paper makes use of the UMU platform to design a teaching model combining online and offline approaches and studies the teaching reform application practice,in order to provide a feasible path for the comprehensive practice activity course reform in the middle school.Firstly,this paper sorts out the current status of mixed teaching model both home and abroad,defines the research direction and makes the preparation for the following study.Then,the author reviews the status of comprehensive practice activity course in middle school through questionnaires to construct mixed teaching model of comprehensive practice activity course supported by UMU platform on the basis of the basic theory of mixed teaching model,characteristics of practice activity course in middle school and advantages of UMU platform.As a new type of teaching model,mixed teaching model has obvious mixing characteristics,including the mixture of resources,the mixture of teaching process and the mixture of learning evaluation,this kind of on-line and off-line mixture can not only break the limit of learning space,but also can get the feedback of students in time and stimulate the enthusiasm of students.At last,mixed teaching model is applied in the comprehensive practice activity course in middle school and its function is verified through three rounds of actions.After that,it comes to the conclusion that UMU platform supported mixed teaching model is beneficial for communication and coordination between teachers and students and would improve students' practice capability.Besides,this model has been recognized by students.
