With the mobile Internet changing people's daily life more and more deeply,information anxiety has become one of the inevitable problems.In view of the information anxiety phenomenon in the use of social media,this study combines cognitive load theory,use and satisfaction theory and media dependence theory through literature analysis,questionnaire survey and interview,This paper discusses the relationship between the use of mobile social media represented by wechat and information anxiety,in order to understand the relationship between the use of mobile social media such as wechat and information anxiety,and provide suggestions for college students to use mobile social media reasonably.It is found that most college students use wechat in order to meet the "instrumental needs",that is,to meet their own needs of information understanding,learning and communication,etc.college students' information anxiety is mainly manifested in the anxiety of information quality and information lack.Technology majors spend less time using wechat than arts and arts majors.The higher education level,the longer time using wechat every day,and technology users are less likely to express their opinions in the circle of friends."Onlooking participation" has a positive impact on the anxiety of information quantity,and "Deep Participation" has a positive impact on the anxiety of information deficiency.Users with instrumental needs have higher anxiety than those with habitual needs,and users with deeper media dependence have stronger information anxiety.
