The Chinese government departments have successively issued policy,guidance and normative documents concerning traveling study since 2013.As a new and effective way to put the quality-oriented education into practice,the study travel is gradually emerging and being promoted across the country.The research on geography traveling program study design based on key competence is conducive to the implementation of national education reform.Besides,it can adjust measures to local conditions using local resources to make up for the shortage of national study travel bases and camps.Also,it can improve the way of learning and promote the cultivation of students' geographical literacy.Moreover,it can promote the change of teaching concept and professional development of geography teachers.The high school geography of traveling study design based on key competence of geography has been studied,using documentary methods,questionnaire,interview and many other cases etc.Through the investigation?It was found that the safety factor and economic factor are the important factors affecting the enthusiasm of teachers and students to participate in the study travel,and students are most interested in the study travel in regional culture,science and technology,and cities.Aiming at the cultivation of the key competence of senior high schools,this paper studies the design of geographic traveling program study.The design principle should follow the regulations of safety,pertinence,system and disciplines.The design procedure includes six parts.First,design the theme by considering synthetically.Second,implement the curriculum standard to determine the training goal of geographic key competence.Third,select resources and design routes according to local conditions.Fourth,choose the content of activities for more practice and experience.Fifth,choose your organization flexibly.Finally,compile a traveling guide study and design the evaluation of traveling study.Based on the key competence,the paper was designed and implemented in a geography traveling study program with the theme of "visiting ancient cities and villages" by making use of the local resources of Jieyang,reflecting and summarizing the experience at the same time,as well as to provide some suggestions for the local high schools(especially the rural high schools)to carry out geography traveling study better.
