The continuous and active involvement of science teachers' in primary school science education is a crucial factor to cultivate students' scientific literacy and improve the scientific quality of the whole people.Reasonable motivation is one of the important means to keep teachers active and positive.However,there are some problems in the current incentives work for elementary school science teachers.The research object of this thesis was the science teachers in the primary schools in Chongqing's main urban area,and the theoretical basis was self-determination theory.Two questionnaires,Current Situation of Primary School Science Teachers Incentives for the science teachers and the administrators in the primary schools,were developed by means of literature research and teacher interview.Questionnaires were distributed through web and paper questionnaires in primary schools in the nine districts of Chongqing's main urban area,for the science teachers and the administrators,340 and155 were issued respectively.318 and 146 valid questionnaires were retrieved.SPSS22.0were used to analyze these data,the current problems existing in the motivation of the science teachers in the primary schools were found.Reasons behind these phenomena were analyzed,and the effective countermeasures and suggestions were put forward.The results show that the current problems in the motivation of primary school science teachers in the main urban areas of Chongqing include irrational assessment and evaluation of science teachers,insufficient support for the development of science teachers by training,lack of incentives for autonomous support,insufficient self-identity and happiness,and less motivation,inadequate materials and poor results of science teachers.The main reasons are as follows: the school's assessment and evaluation system is not perfect;training and development to science teachers is not highly valued;some schools lacks understanding of the importance of independent development of science teachers;the burden of science teachers is too heavy,and their professional identity is low;science curriculum in schools have less attention;school incentives are incomplete and inadequately implemented.In order to do a good job of motivating science teachers in primary schools,the countermeasures and suggestions put forward in this paper mainly include improving the assessment and evaluation system of science teachers;attaching importance to the development of science teachers to enhance professional competence;enhancing teachers autonomy to support incentives and enhancing teachers' internal motivation;reducing the workload of science teachers and increasing their self-identification sense and happiness;implementing relevant requirements and effectively improving the status of science courses in schools;meeting the multi-level needs of science teachers,material,spiritual and emotional incentives are used in conjunction;establishing an incentive system based on "blockchain" technology of science teachers.
