The issue of mate selection has always been a hot topic and has attracted much attention from people from all walks of life, researchers and relevant departments. The issue of mate selection has always been a hot topic and has attracted much attention from people from all walks of life, researchers and relevant departments.College students,as important talents and backup forces for building a harmonious society in China, their long-term mate selection criteria that not only affect the personal mate selection behavior, the future marital status will also have a certain impact on the marital and family trends of the entire society. Therefore,it is of great practical significance to explore the long-term mate selection criteria of college students and its influence. The first study of this paper is to first investigate the findings that the subjective social status(SSS)of college students found by their predecessors plays a mediating role between their family socio-economic status(SES)and long-term mate selection criteria Re-verify,and further explore whether there is a gender difference in the results.Specifically,in this study,an anonymous questionnaire survey was conducted among1,000 undergraduates nationwide using the family SES questionnaire, college student SSS questionnaire, and college student long-term mate selection criteria questionnaire. The results found that:(1)college student SSS between their family SES and long-term mate selection criteria play a significant mediating role;(2)there is no gender difference in this mediating role.In view of the fact that the first study is a horizontal survey,it cannot explain whether there is a causal relationship between variables. Therefore,in the second study, the questionnaire of the first study was further used to conduct a longitudinal tracking survey on 563 collegestudents of a university in Guiyang city for a total of 3 times for a period of one year and a half, with each survey spaced 6 months apart. The tracking results show that:(1)college students' SSS plays a stable longitudinal mediating role between their family SES and long-term mate selection criteria, that is,in terms of time sequence,it proves that college students' family SES can influence the establishment of long-term mate selection criteria by influencing the formation of their SSS;(2)there is no gender difference in the longitudinal mediating effect of SSS.Based on the results of study I and study ii,it can be found that SSS has a direct impact on the long-term mate selection criteria of college students. So in the short term to change the SSS of college students, can also lead to changes in their mate selection criteria? The answer to this question is helpful to further clarify whether there is a causal relationship between SSS and individual mate selection criteria. Therefore,in the third study, under the condition that family SES,SSS and long-term mate selection criteria of college students are controlled in advance, whether there is a covariation relationship between SSS and the mate selection criteria of college students is investigated through the initiation of SSS in the laboratory. The results showed that college students in the SSS reduction group chose a lower standard spouse than those in the control group and the SSS promotion group. This indicates that when college students' SSS is reduced, they will significantly reduce their standards of mate selection, and this effect has a transgender stability. To some extent, this further proves that there is a clear causal relationship between college students' SSS and their long-term mate selection criteria. In summary, through the results of this study,we can find that first of all,in previous studies, most of the mate selection criteria were regarded as immutable, and this study found that the establishment of long-term mate selection criteria for college students is actually due to theindividual SSS in different groups. The changes are different, which to a certain extent enriches the research on the influencing factors of the mate selection criteria, and deepens the understanding of the sexual strategy theory proposed by evolutionary psychology;second, the results of this study are consultation has a certain enlightening significance. In fact, when conducting marriage and love education and counseling,it should be noted that the individual's mate selection criteria are not static in nature. In fact, they will fluctuate according to the environment. Therefore, for spouses, flexible and flexible spouse selection standards will It is more conducive to establishing a good partnership. This has important guiding significance for those who have difficulty in mate selection when adjusting their mate selection strategies.
