In recent years, with the continuous deepening of exchanges and cooperation between China and Thailand,Chinese teaching in Thailand has developed rapidly.Every year,China sends a large number of volunteers and teachers to Thailand to teach Chinese. In the process of teaching Chinese as a foreign language or intercultural communication, both students and teachers will have negative cultural transfer due to cultural differences, which will have an impact on Chinese teaching. How to overcome the negative impact of negative cultural transfer in Chinese teaching has become one of the urgent problems to be solved in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. In this paper, the cultural differences between China and Thailand are linked with teaching, and combines my Chinese teaching experience in Anuban Sisaket School in northeastern Thailand. And then compare the differences between Chinese and Thai cultures, analyze the negative transfer effects of differences on Chinese teaching in Thai primary schools. On the basis of consulting domestic and foreign related researches, this article firstly sorts out the literature, and briefly expounds the relevant concepts in the article.Secondly, use the contrast method to compare and analyze the differences between China and Thailand. For example, language and culture differences, classroom culture differences, and folk culture differences.Through comparison, the author finds that,as an important part of Chinese language teaching, the cultural differences between Chinese and Thai languages are mainly reflected in four aspects: pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and characters. The differences in classroom culture are reflected in educational goals and ideas, classroom management system, teachers management methods and evaluation methods.Folk culture as a microcosm of local life, the differences are mainly reflected in material folk culture and spiritual folk culture, such as food, clothing, etiquette and customs, religious belief and so on.Thirdly, using the teaching practice method and observation method, the paper finds and records the negative transfer effect of cultural differences on Chinese teaching in Thai primary schools in the actual teaching. For example, under the influence of Thai pronunciation, students improperly apply the pronumciation rules of their mother tongue to Chinese, resulting in various errors in pronunciation.Or in the communication between teachers and students, due to the lack of understanding of each other's culture, the two sides make use of their own cultural habits and thinking patterns, resulting in communication barriers or misunderstandings. Finally, according to the actual problems in teaching such as various errors made by students in language learning, insufficient motivation of students to learn Chinese, the author made a reflection and summary, and proposed understanding, respect and appropriate cultural transfer. It also provides solutions such as teachers should understand the culture of the country where they are going to take office in advance, compare and analyze cultures in teaching, and create an atmosphere for cross-cultural communication and learning in campus, hoping to bring some help to the work of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
