China is a multi-ethnic country, especially with the advancement of the reform and development of the western region in the new period, the western ethnic regions are in urgent need of all kinds of talents at all levels. However, the employment competition of vocational school graduates in the East is intensified.Although the state and the western regions have constantly introduced relevant policies to attract talents from the eastern regions to work in the western ethnic regions, the effect is not good.Based on the research results of inter group contact abroad, this study assumes that the situation of inter group contact is more related to the employment attitude of graduates from Eastern vocational schools in western ethnic regions. Therefore, the main research topic of this paper is the influence of inter group contact on the employment attitude of Eastern secondary vocational students in western minority areas. This study is based on a comparative study of different types of schools, including secondary vocational schools without inland vocational classes for the students from Xinjiang and secondary vocational schools with inland vocational classes for the students from Xinjiang. Therefore, this paper mainly studies intergroup contact, which will be presented from three.Firstly,it investigates and understands the intergroup contact between the eastern students and the ethnic minorities in the west, secondly, analyzes and studies the attitude, employment intention, employment cognition and behavior attitude of the eastern secondary vocational students towards employment in the western ethnic areas, and finally, explores whether the intergroup contact will have an impact on the employment attitude of the secondary vocational school students in the east to the western ethnic areas. This study mainly refers to intergroup contact theory, and reference to the mature questionnaire. There are two parts of the questionnaire—intergroup contact and employment attitude, among which intergroup contact includes direct contact and indirect contact.Indirect contact includes four variables:extended contact, imagined contact, vicarious contact and virtual contact.Employment attitude has three aspects:employment intention, employment cognition and behavior attitude. In detail, employment cognition includes environmental-societal system cognition, social system cognition and individual system cognition. And behavioral attitude includes affective attitude and instrumental attitude. The research object of this study is the students from the middle vocational school A and school B,of which there is no internal class in school A and there are some inland vocational classes for the students from Xinjiang in school B.After questionnaire survey of students in school A and School B,descriptive statistical analysis, difference analysis, correlation statistical analysis, regression statistical analysis are carried out for the collected data, and the following conclusions are drawn:First, from the perspective of the intergroup contact between the students of the eastern secondary vocational school and the ethnic minorities in the west,in terms of direct contact, the students of school A have much lower chances of contacting the ethnic minorities in the west than the students of the eastern secondary vocational school of school B;in terms of indirect contact, students from school A and school B learn about the ethnic minorities in western China through online platforms, live video broadcasts, and news reports.Second,in terms of attitudes towards employment in the western ethnic regions, the scores of the eastern secondary vocational students' employment intention, employment cognition and behavior attitude are generally low,and most students choose "disagree" and "general".Among the various dimensions of employment cognition, the score of environmental-societal system cognition is higher than that of social system cognition, and the score of social system cognition is higher than that of personal system cognition. Most of the choices are "disagree" and "general".Among all kinds of behaviors attitude, the score of instrumental attitude is between "general" and"agree",which is higher than the affective attitude that scores between"disagree" and "general".In addition, the survey results show that the variables of employment cognition and behavior attitude have a positive relationship with employment intentions, and have a positive impact on employment intentions.Third, intergroup contact is positively related to the eastern secondary vocational students' attitude towards employment to the western minority areas.Direct contact and indirect contact are positively related to the variables of the eastern secondary vocational students' attitude towards employment to the western minority areas, and the extended contact and imagined contact in direct contact and indirect contact will positively affect the variables of the eastern secondary vocational students' attitude towards employment to the western minority areas. Finally, drawing lessons from a series of policies adopted by the United States,Europe,India and other countries and regions to prevent brain drain and promote the return of talents, and combining with the research conclusions of this study, this paper puts forward "making use of the advantages of China's national unity system to promote Intergroup contact and mutual understanding" and "the government introduces relevant security policies,to encourage students to work in western minority areas".
