Children are the hope of a family and the future of the country and nation.Among children,orphans are the weakest and most difficult group.With the continuous development of my country’s child welfare undertakings,the basic life of orphans has been effectively improved,but the current protection policies for rural orphans are mainly concentrated on the material level and lack the necessary spiritual and emotional support.According to the theory of social support,the stronger the emotional support network a person has,the more capable they are to effectively deal with various challenges,especially for rural orphans who have insufficient social relationships and weak social support.Positive emotional support It can effectively meet their family needs,communication needs and respect needs,helping them regain their confidence in life and grow up healthy and optimistic.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to carry out a case study of emotional support for rural orphans.Under the guidance of social support theory and ecosystem theory,this study took rural orphans in District Z of City G as an example,and used questionnaire surveys and semi-structured interviews to visit their guardian relatives,classmates,friends,teachers and community managers,etc.Investigate to understand the emotional support and emotional needs of rural orphans.The survey found that the emotional support network for rural orphans in Z area showed the characteristics of "small scale,high convergence,and low heterogeneity" in terms of network size,convergence and heterogeneity;rural orphans mainly showed family comfort and safety Feeling,companionship,entertainment,and praise encourage emotional needs in four areas.Aiming at the problems of emotional support for rural orphans,a strategic conception of building an emotional support network for rural orphans from four levels of guardian family,peer group,school and community is proposed.On this basis,a rural orphan is selected as the service object,and the professional methods and skills of social work are used for casework intervention services.By correcting the deviant cognition of the client,improve their self-confidence and enhance their self-support;by improving the communication mode of the guardian family,increasing the frequency of family members’ interaction,and enhancing the emotional support function of the guardian family;by helping the client master communication skills,improve their communication Willingness to build peer group emotional support;by linking resources such as teachers and community managers,enhance their support awareness,and expand the emotional support of the target school and community.After eight effective interventions in four stages,an emotional support network combining "self-guardian family-peer group-school community" has been gradually built for the client,effectively alleviating the problem of insufficient emotional support for the client and helping them grow healthily.
