A Case Study Of Parent-child Communication In A Family Of Widowed Single Mothers

Single parent family is a common form of family at present,among which widowed single mother family is particularly attractive because of its particularity.There are some problems in the communication between parents and children in this kind of family.Parent child communication is an important means to maintain the basic family relationship.In single parent families,parent-child communication,as an important way for single parents and children to obtain emotional support,exchange views,information and behavior interaction,can help parents timely understand their children's cognitive and emotional information in the process of growth,and also have a great impact on their children's psychological,growth and behavioral characteristics.In parent-child communication,the state presented by parents has a great impact on children's character.High quality parent-child communication will bring corresponding positive effects,while low quality parent-child communication is often accompanied by negative effects.Compared with two parent families,widowed single mother families often fall into poverty due to lack of father's support.When a family falls into poverty,it will produce serious economic and psychological pressure.Both economic pressure and psychological pressure are easy to cause parent-child communication problems.If there are serious parent-child communication problems in this type of family can not be solved,it will seriously affect the harmony of single parent families and the healthy development of children.This shows that good parent-child communication is of great significance to the growth of children.Therefore,the need of parent-child communication and counseling in single parent families should be paid attention to.Taking a widowed single mother family as an example,this study intervenes in the parent-child communication problems in the family under the guidance of consistent behavior communication theory and cognitive behavior theory.Based on the actual problems such as poor parent-child communication,single communication content and insufficient emotional communication in the host family,this paper uses the consistent behavior theory to analyze and determine whether the parent-child communication status is good,The cognitive behavior theory is used to analyze and determine the misconception of parent-child communication.In practice,the service family is guided to find the parent-child communication problems in the family.By helping the family to formulate communication rules,learn parent-child communication skills,and experience the psychological feelings of emotional communication,the wrong cognition of parent-child communication is changed,and the service family is helped to solve communication problems and form an effective communication mode.So as to improve the state of parent-child communication.
