Since the 20th century,the HPS educational model(emphasizing the integration of the history of science,philosophy of science and sociology of science in teaching)has gradually become an important direction of international educational reform.History of geography science is a branch of history of science.As an important geography curriculum resource to support teaching,History of geography science is widely used in geography textbooks and geography classrooms.Studies have shown that learning the history of geography is conducive to improving students' overall quality and core competencies of geography.Geography textbooks are tools for student learning and important resources for teachers to organize their teaching activities.The introduction,body text,and activity sections of the textbook all promote the development of students'scientific knowledge and literacy through the use of the history of geography science.Analyzing the educational value on the history of geography science in geography textbooks published in different periods is conducive to a deeper understanding of the evolutionary pattern of the history of geography science in geography textbooks.It provides reference suggestions for geography teachers to use the history of science content in geography textbooks flexibly to assist their teaching.First,based on discussing the background and significance of this study and combing and summarizing the relevant domestic and foreign literature,this paper determines the research content,research method and research line of this paper.Guided by the scientific theories such as rooting theory,SOLO classification theory and other realistic bases such as literature materials,this study uses keyword co-word cluster analysis,literature coding analysis and expert consultation method to determine the research tool of this study-the analysis framework for the educational value on the history of geography science.Later the framework was then tested for reliability through an expert consultation questionnaire.On the basis of above analysis,this paper used the high school geography textbooks published by People's Education Press in 1955,1984,2008 and 2019 as the research objects,and analyzed their educational value of the history of geography science with the analysis framework for the educational value on the history of geography science respectively.By longitudinally comparing the geography knowledge learning value,scientific ability improvement value,moral and emotional sublimation value and philosophical thinking cultivation value of the four textbooks,we conclude that the educational value of the history of geography science in the textbooks has the evolution pattern of diversity,periodicity and practice.However,there are the following problems in the educational value on the history of geography science in the textbook:comprehensive but unbalanced;the history of geography science is mostly presented in the form of textual materials,rich in details but slightly less interesting;the cultivation of students' scientific ability and scientific thinking,such as geographic research methods and philosophical thinking,is mainly focused on the theoretical level and lack of practical application.In response to these problems,this paper provides reference suggestions for teachers to tap and use more geographic science history resources based on the use of geographic science history in textbooks.
