A Practical Study Of Group Work Involving Single Mothers’ Life Difficulties

Our country social economic,political and cultural level of continuous development at the same time also gradually changed the traditional concept of women due to social and regional culture bound marriage and family,for not a happy marriage and family life are no longer blindly endure infringement of personal rights and interests,and may be a spouse,family change and other factors,the number of single mothers increased year by year.Single mothers,as a vulnerable group in society,are under great mental pressure,and at the same time,they also bear the economic responsibilities of the family and fulfill the obligations of raising and supporting children.As a result,the plight of single mothers in life is becoming more and more prominent,which needs the attention and support from the government,various social organizations and individuals.Social work,with its values of subjectivity,self-help and empathy,and its flexible working methods,has great advantages in helping single mothers solve their life difficulties.In order to improve the plight of single mothers in Qingshuihe Town,Chengduo County,Yushu Prefecture,this paper takes single mothers in the community as the object of investigation through field observation,unstructured interview and questionnaire survey in village H of the town,combined with relevant literature research.Through the investigation,it is found that a considerable number of local single mothers are faced with many problems,such as poor economic conditions and lack of employment channels,high pressure on child rearing and strained parent-child relationship,poor physical and mental health,difficulty in remarriage and social relationship expansion,etc.This paper can not only reflect the plight of single mothers,but also truly reflect the living situation of single mothers.It can also provide reference for workers,young women,civil affairs and community work groups.At the same time in this paper,according to many county qingshui river town H village based on the group work method based on single mothers life dilemma problem solving practical intervention,detailed analysis of the social workers involved in single mothers and pastoral life group work practice to carry out the social background and resource conditions,this paper expounds the design of the group activities and target,This paper introduces the specific process and results of five group activities with the themes of team building,parent-child relationship,law popularization and psychological counseling,and summarizes the deficiencies of mutual assistance,professionalism and organization in the process of practical work involving poor single mothers in solving their life difficulties.Finally,the paper gives suggestions on the service methods and system improvement,social policy and legal mechanism perfection,and social publicity and participation that the future social work should pay attention to in solving the problem of single mothers,and explains the effect and significance of the research and practical activities.
