The children of single-mother families often face many special difficulties in theirgrowth process. This paper adopts the action research, combining the social work researchwith the social work practice, trying to explore the methods and mechanisms of helping thechildren of single-parent families out of their growth predicament from the perspective ofsocial work. First of all, the author estimated the needs and the basic plights of growth ofthe clients. Secondly, the author analyzed the causes of the growing plight of the childrenin single-parent families. It proves the feasibility of the Group Social Work in solving thegrowth predicament that the children of single-parent families faced. Finally, the authorinduced and summarized the practical experiences relying on the Happy Lovers of EnergyInn and assessed the effectiveness of the intervention of Group Social Work. Practice hasproved that Social Worker can help the children of single-mother families out of thegrowing difficulties effectively based on psychological adjustment, capacity building andsocial support in the service concept, with the purpose of helping people to helpthemselves, utilizing the method of Group Social Work.
