In modern times,with the constant updates and breakthroughs in my country's educational thoughts,increasingly more scholars have focused their attention on core literacy and whole book reading,and subject teaching research with core literacy as the guiding ideology has increasingly turned into a popular theme for research.Most researchers have studied core literacy and whole book reading at both the theoretical and practical levels,but a set of universal teaching strategies that combine core literacy with teaching practice has yet to be found.It is only by developing core literacies in the actual teaching and learning process that the nurturing role of language teaching can be fully exploited,thereby achieving the aim of developing vital abilities and required character to students' whole-life development.Based on this,the author devotes herself to the study of “Whole book reading teaching in junior high school based on core literacy of language subjects-taking Camel Xiangzi as an example”,focusing on the various problems that exist in reading teaching nowadays,and exploring the theoretical and pedagogical aspects respectively.The research is designed to explore the theoretical and pedagogical aspects of teaching reading,and to develop students' core language literacy in the process of promoting whole-book reading teaching.The main contents of the thesis are as follows.The introductory part explains the origin,the purpose and significance of the research,literature review and so on,and organize the concepts related to whole book reading and core literacy,and the literature related to whole book reading based on core literacy,so as to lay the theoretical foundation for the subsequent study.Chapter 1: Theoretical basis,current situation investigation and analysis of whole book reading.This research looks at the learning psychology of junior high school students,the textual value of reading and the requirements of the language curriculum standards,finds theoretical fulcrums in the basis of the implementation of whole book reading,grasps the real situation of whole book reading teaching at present through student questionnaires and teacher interviews.The analysis of the survey data identifies contemporary problems and facilitates the construction of a research system for whole book reading teaching.Chapter 2: The whole book reading instructional design using "Camel Xiangzi" as an example is the core and breakthrough of this study.The whole-book reading teaching system is built up through three parts: preparation before reading,guidance during reading and extension after reading,so that the whole-book reading teaching programme can be put into practice.Chapter 3: The Cultivation of Language Core Literacy through the Implementation of Whole Book Reading Teaching of "camel Xiangzi",The main manifestation is the cultivation of students' comprehensive abilities through whole book reading,which reflects the pedagogical significance of whole book reading to cultivate language core literacy.The reflections on the design of whole-book reading activities are used to inspire scholars to think more about whole-book reading teaching under language core literacy.
