Heng Shui Middle School has always been the focus of public opinion in the education circle.It has been called a "super middle school" and has received long-term attention and constant controversy.Enrollment rate has been drawing attention from many middle schools nationwide,especially those in He Bei Province.They have faster access to the successful model compared with their peers who also want to imitate the “Heng Shui” model.However,the empirical model for the prestigious school is only a short-lived project for other institutes,producing only short-term effect.This research focuses on the personal experience of students.Taking XH Middle School as an example,narrative research is conducted from the perspective of student development needs.The research is divided into four chapters: The first chapter focuses on XH Middle School: from the four aspects of time arrangement,only catching students with good grades,meticulous and strict behavior management and repeated tempering of the mind,it will show the readers XH Middle School students.Life style.The second chapter is the interaction between XH Middle School and students.Different students have different adaptation processes.In this part,the author selected three representative students for a detailed follow-up,telling about their roller coaster mentality and behavior changes after enrollment.In the third chapter,the author analyzes the contradictions between XH middle school and student development needs through educational theory;in the fourth part,the author proposes countermeasures on this basis,hoping that the school,government and society will set an example.This research adopts a qualitative research method and selected 16 interviewees for in-depth interviews.They are first graders,second graders,juniors of the junior high school and also students who have graduated from that school for one year.In order to respond to the needs of reflection and verification,the physical collection method is used in conjunction.Finally,the materials are integrated and the themes and conclusions are gradually extracted.The study found that under the influence of Heng Shui Middle School,first,XH Middle School has the following characteristics in terms of time: precise time arrangement,time becomes "meaningful" and activity time is measured in minutes;XH Middle School only focuses on good entrance scores Students: It is expressed in classifying classes,forcing students with poor grades to drop out and cooperating with the vocational education center;strict daily behavior norms,implementation of hierarchical supervision system and punishment in place ensure the meticulous and strict behavior management;isolate students from the outside world and pass Frequent examinations indicate gaps and spiritual motivation to strengthen students' minds.Second,through in-depth interviews,three representative interactions between students and XH Middle School were discovered: active choice,drifting with the crowd,and habitual acceptance.It also summarizes several dimensions that students need for development,including physical and mental health,and peer relationships.The third author uses Maslow's demand theory to analyze the current life style of XH middle school students: Sacrificing other needs of students to meet the enrollment rate,and finally reconstructing from the three aspects of school,government and society to balance student needs and learning efficiency.The conclusion of the study is that other middle schools in He Bei Province take advantage of the nearby being in a close vicinity to the Heng Shui Middle School and hope to copy the“Heng Zhong Mode”,expecting to have the same enrollment rate as Heng Shui Middle School,but they are trapped by time traps and institutional disciplines,ignoring the complexity of students.XH Middle School should take the development needs of students as the starting point,the school should innovate in time,and the government and society should also set an example.This is a gradual,long and difficult process.Schools,government and society should work together to find education that suits the development needs of students and the needs of society.
