Mathematics is a subject with a high-level logical thinking.Geometry is one of it's key content.As a crucial part of math ability,the ability of Geometry,whose formation is closely related to geometry education,has gained more and more attention while developed in course standard of high school.However,according to the current situation of training and research,junior high school students' geometric space ability is still relatively weak,and enhancing the performance and operation of space objects is the key to improve students' geometric space ability.With the gradual maturing of Virtual Reality Technology and it's continuous spread in education,Virtual Reality Technology have a certain advantage while solving the above-mentioned problems,owing to it's interactivity,aid in conceiving and immersion compared with other medias.Hence,it is of great significance to combine virtual reality technology with junior high school students' geometric space ability training.To begin with,by arranging the relevant studies on geometry ability,this thesis indicate that geometry ability is consist of 3 levels--The formation of geometric space representation,the psychological rotation and thinking operation of geometric space representation,and the creation of new images of geometric space.The specific abilities cover the recognition and understanding of patterns,View and expansion,combination and decomposition,rotation and motion transformation,direction and projection,drawing and reasoning.After that,we analyze the mathematics curriculum standard and teaching material of junior high school,determine the training goal and content,construct the model frame of training geometric space ability based on Virtual Reality Technology,design and manufacture the virtual geometry learning resource system,and carry out the practical research on the ability of graphic recognition and understanding,view and expansion,rotation and motion transformation,orientation and projection.Both experimental and control class will test their condition in ability development via several papers pointing to its' own goal.The result of the exam preceding and after the research will be analyzed.Judging from the practical research and the result of the exam,we can draw the conclusion that applying VR technology to the development of geometry ability among students is actually valid.It is apparently effective to improve students' ability,including fold and unfold,mental rotation,projection and recognition of patterns while It is a little effective to view capability.Meanwhile,in order to arouse the awareness and thinking of relevant researchers and offer some reference when it comes to applying VR technology to education,this paper makes a summary of the problems found along the research.
