Since the promulgation of the General High School Geography Curriculum Standard in 2017,the geography education circles more concern about problem-based teaching.With the deepening of the research,problem teaching has gradually changed from the perspective of "problem" to "situation ",and the theory of this teaching method has become more perfect.However,the practical application effect of problem-based teaching method is not ideal,such as improper situation and problem design,vague goal,low level of problem inquiry,improper time arrangement and so on.The main reasons include: lack of teachers' experience,students' wrong attribution,teaching resources and time limit.This paper aim to provide a reference for improving and enriching the geography teaching methods in middle schools.This paper combines literature research,action research,experimental research and questionnaire survey to deeply explore the relevant theories,and after considering the principles of situational,scientific,disciplinary and operational,puts forward the "three-ring,four-step and seven-step" implementation mode of problem-based teaching.Based on it and classroom practice,this paper explores its advantages and disadvantages in practical teaching,and further puts forward improvement strategies.Teaching practice process and effect analysis,mainly used the student questionnaire survey,the teacher peer evaluation and the student before and after the test results comparison three ways.Using the teacher peer evaluation to obtain the real data of the teaching process,combined with the questionnaire survey as a supplement,and then comparing the students' pre-and post-test results,the advantages of problem-based teaching are summarized: changing students' attitude and creating a good atmosphere;developing students' thinking and improving teaching achievements;promoting core literacy and cultivating action ability.At the same time,it also summarizes the problems existing in practice: insufficient situation mining;improper grasp of learning situation;insufficient skill training.On this basis,the optimization strategies are put forward: withholding knowledge,clear goals,selecting situations according to learning situation,exploring problems,sticking to life,creating atmosphere,starting thinking and promoting development.
