Since the reform and opening up,China's economy has developed rapidly and people's living standards have improved significantly, but income inequality has become increasingly prominent. When exploring the factors affecting income inequality in China, the employment problem of the labor force is undoubtedly significant. The rapid development of China's economy is inseparable from the impetus of the service industry. In terms of economy, the service industry has promoted China's economic prosperity, and GDP growth has also accelerated;in the labor market, the service industry has created tens of thousands of jobs, alleviated employment pressure, and played an important role in solving the employment problem. The service industry has developed into an important industry surpassing the primary industry and the secondary industry. However, there is an imbalance in the increase of internal employment in the service industry. Therefore, employment in the service industry has also become an important factor affecting income inequality in my country. Therefore, this article believes that in the issue of income inequality,it is of great significance to link service industry employment with income inequality, and specifically analyze the impact of service industry employment on income inequality. When analyzing the impact of service industry employment on income inequality, this article divides the service industry into four sectors and introduces gender differences to analyze the differential impact of different genders in service industry employment on income inequality..In statistics, the ratio of the number of male or female labor in different sectors in the service industry to the total labor force is used to indicate the employment situation in different sectors, and the Gini coefficient is used to indicate income inequality. This is the gender difference in different sectors of the service industry. The basis for an empirical analysis of the impact of income inequality. In terms of theory, this article uses Oaxaca-Blinder decomposition theory,Cotton decomposition theory and Brown decomposition theory to identify gender wage discrimination, gender industry wage discrimination and gender employment promotion discrimination respectively. And analyze the specific impact effect through relevant data. And this article analyzes the mechanism of the gender employment difference in the service industry that affects income inequality from the two aspects of human capital difference and social capital difference. When analyzing the impact of service industry employment on income inequality, this article divides the service industry into four sectors and introduces gender differences to analyze the differential impact of different genders in basis for empirical analysis of the impact of income inequality. In terms of theory, this article refers to Oaxaca-Blinder decomposition theory,Cotton decomposition theory and Brown decomposition theory to identify gender wage discrimination, gender industry wage discrimination and gender employment promotion discrimination respectively. And analyze the specific impact effect through relevant data. And this article analyzes the mechanism of the gender employment difference in the service industry that affects income inequality from the two aspects of human capital difference and social capital difference. In the empirical part, because this article uses unbalanced panel data, this article uses a fixed effects model for regression analysis. The regression results show that the increase in male employment in the service industry has a significant impact on income inequality, and the increase in male employment can reduce income inequality, while the increase in female employment in the entire service industry has an insignificant impact on income inequality. In terms of the four sectors in the service industry, the increase in male employment in the distribution service industry and the social service industry will reduce income inequality, while the increase in employment in the production service industry will increase income inequality. The impact is not significant;the increase in female employment in the personal service industry and the production service industry will result in significant income inequality, and the increase in personal employment will reduce income inequality, and the increase in employment in the production service industry will increase income inequality. Therefore, gender differences in the service industry Employment has an important impact on income inequality. In the policy part, this article believes that in terms of policy formulation, under the original legal provisions, the continuous improvement of labor-related legislation should be strengthened, and more specific labor market supervision standards and punishment regulations should be formulated to protect the legitimate rights and interests of every worker.Workers can protect their rights and interests when they encounter unlawful and unfair treatment, create a fairer employment environment for workers, and promote a more fair and just society.
