With the development of science and technology,the competitiveness of the country is more reflected in the competition of innovative talents.The cultivation of innovative thinking is one of the important contents of the cultivation of innovative talents,which mainly refers to the formation of innovative ideas,theories,methods and innovative designs.In recent years,the cultivation of students' innovative ability through maker education and STEM education has been paid more and more attention in basic education.However,due to the influence of traditional education habits,the teaching effect is not ideal,and effective teaching models are still being explored.This research designed a STEM teaching model for the cultivation of innovative thinking,and tried to change the method of cultivating students' innovative thinking.The model was perfected and validated through action research.This research is carried out in accordance with the thinking of analysis,design,implementation,and evaluation,and mainly adopts literature research,investigation research and action research.First of all,through literature research,I summarized the current research status of STEM education and innovative thinking cultivation at home and abroad,and clarified the deficiencies in the teaching of innovative thinking ability training for middle school students through investigation and research.Secondly,according to the 5EX teaching model and CPS(Creativity Problem Solving)model of STEM education,combined with the essential composition of innovative thinking and the shortcomings in the training of innovative thinking for middle school students in my country,through the design of the five elements of the teaching model,an innovation-oriented approach is constructed.STEM teaching mode for thinking cultivation.Thirdly,the preliminarily constructed teaching model was used for action research in the STEM course based on the open source hardware Arduino.During the research process,the effectiveness of the model was further improved and verified through classroom observations,questionnaire surveys and interviews,and finally formed four stages(preparation stage,brewing stage,clear stage,verification stage)and five links(problem situation,scientific inquiry,Design and production,development and innovation,sharing evaluation)teaching mode.Research shows that the "STEM teaching model for innovative thinking training" that focuses on special thinking training and relies on comprehensive courses is conducive to improving the quality of students' work,enhancing students' hands-on practice and group cooperation ability,and students' creative tendency has also been significantly improved.
