Application Of Case Management In Emotional Support Service For Urban Empty Nest Elderly

With the acceleration of aging society,the elderly pension problem has aroused widespread concern.In addition,the results of China's economic reform have further benefited the whole people.The urban empty nest elderly pension problem has improved greatly in terms of material security.However,the government's pension security for the elderly is still based on economic support,which is difficult to comprehensively solve the problem of empty nest elderly in social life The lack of emotional support for empty nesters has become an urgent problem in the field of social work for the elderly.This article presents one of the social work modes of emotional support services for empty nesters,namely,case management.Compared with the traditional case work,case management takes the individuals with multi-level needs as the service objects,pays more attention to the link and integration of resources,emphasizes the intervention of various professional resources in the practical process,and provides all-round and multi-level services for individuals in the way of cooperation,so it is effective in the emotional support services for empty nesters.This practice relies on the ecosystem theory and social support network theory,with the help of professional case management methods as the media,taking the empty nesters in Hedong community of Xichang City as the research object,a typical empty nester Z is selected as the service object.The whole process of practice is based on the establishment of professional relationship with the service object,so as to understand the difficulties in seeking emotional support from family,friends,neighbors and communities,and clarify the status of formal support resources and informal support resources,so as to cooperate with the case owners to excavate and integrate superior resources,and help them get rid of the current situation The ultimate goal is to improve the ability of the client to use the superior resources around him.To a certain extent,this paper summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of case management intervention in the lack of emotional support for urban empty nesters,in order to contribute to the field of social work services for the elderly.
