This paper is about the social work practice intervention of rural left behind children's self-confidence,which is based on the theory of Strengths perspective group work. With the rapid development of economy and urbanization,a large number of young and middle-aged labor force enter the cities and towns, followed by the rapid increase in the number of left behind children.According to white paper on the mental state of left behind children in China,The survey shows that the left behind children have a low self-esteem index,a serious sense of inferiority in self-consciousness,and a significantly lower evaluation of their own intelligence and appearance, and a serious lack of self-confidence.In recent years, social workers have also paid attention to the problem of rural left behind children's lack of self-confidence,and carry out corresponding practical intervention research, mainly in social work professional dissertation.Reviewing the previous literature, the practical intervention of children's self-confidence mainly focuses on children from low-income families and migrant children, while the literature on the improvement of left behind children in rural areas is relatively small. In the past, the methods of intervention were mainly carried out through group work, and they also achieved certain results. However, the effect evaluation of group intervention activities is relatively weak. Most of the articles only carry out a general evaluation after the whole activity. In the process of group intervention activities, they are only completed through simple interview data, and the subtle changes before and after each intervention can not be presented intuitively. In the process of practical intervention, the author uses the method of interview and scale measurement, through the analysis and collation of the scale score and interview records, concludes that due to the lack of care and protection for left behind children themselves, families, schools and communities, they lack of true self-awareness in thought, prominent sense of insecurity, and unwilling to actively express themselves in behavior.Through the analysis of the service object and the objective environment, the author adjusts the previous six intervention activities to five.In the process of group activities, social workers help the team members to correctly understand themselves and find their own flash points by using professional skills such as encouragement, guidance and listening.Through group form, they learn from each other, affirm each other, and guide and support more team members At the same time, through the response of team members and the achievement of goals, constantly adjust the activity plan, hoping to achieve the goal better. Finally, through interviews, group satisfaction evaluation and social workers' observation of the group members' performance, the following conclusions are drawn: the development of group work is conducive to improving the self-confidence of rural left behind children to a certain extent;the mining of team members' advantages is conducive to the achievement of group goals. Finally, through this practical activity, the author makes his own reflection on the left behind children's learning and living state, the embodiment of social work professionalism encountered in the practical process, whether the theory is applied to practice, the choice of value neutrality, the treatment of professional ethics and the feelings of the client.
