Due to the influence of natural conditions and resource endowments, the distribution of population and economy among regions is different to some extent. In addition,China has experienced the process of rapid industrialization and rapid urbanization, and production factors such as employed population and capital are bound to flow and reconfigure rapidly between different regions. As China’s most populous province and henan province, big agricultural province and economic province, accompanied by the rise of the central region, the central plains urban agglomeration economic uplift "strategy implementation, such as regional population and capital elements of rapid flow on the space, can make the regional population and economic agglomeration degree and converging speed differences, leading to the inconsistency of the spatial distribution of regional population and economy. For this reason, the paper take a case study of Henan Province so as to discuss the relationship between the employed population and the spatial distribution of economy in Henan Province, studies its internal influencing factors, and looks for general rules in representative regions, hoping to provide reference for the coordinated development of regional population and economy at the national level.Taking Henan Province as the research area, this paper explores the employment population and economic spatial distribution in Henan Province from three dimensions of economic division, city and county.Firstly, the paper describes the spatial distribution of the total employed population and structure, economic aggregate and industrial structure in four major economic zones and 18 prefectures and cities in Henan Province in 2019.Secondly,using spatial statistical analysis and traditional statistical analysis methods, the global autocorrelation index and local autocorrelation index of employed population and economy, the degree of population and economic geographical concentration, and the population-economic inconsistency index are calculated to explore the spatial evolution and inconsistency of employed population and economy in Henan Province from 2000 to 2019.Finally,starting from the main body of resource allocation, the paper analyzes the influence of market and government on the inconsistency of population and economic distribution, selects the physical capital status, human capital status, infrastructure construction, regional policy, economic development level and industrial structure as explanatory variables, and constructs a panel regression model to quantitatively analyze the influencing factors. This paper mainly draws the following conclusions:First, there are obvious spatial differences between the employment population and economic distribution in Henan Province. In 2019,the spatial distribution of the employed population in Henan Province showed the densest area in northern Henan, followed by the Central Plains urban agglomeration, and the western and southwestern Henan regions were the most sparse. The overall spatial distribution of the economic aggregate showed that the Central Plains urban agglomeration was far ahead. The northern Henan area is followed by the relatively backward characteristics of the Huang-huai area.Second, the agglomeration and evolution of employment population and economic space in Henan Province are inconsistent in time and space. In terms of time, the evolution of the spatial agglomeration of the employment population presents the characteristics of agglomeration distribution and spatial random distribution, while the regional economic spatial distribution has a significant positive spatial autocorrelation. In terms of space, the employed population presents the dual structure characteristics of hot spots in the southeast and cold spots in the northwest, and the spatial structure of the economy is mainly based on the high concentration hotspots centered on Zhengzhou-Luoyang.Third,the spatial distribution of the employed population in Henan Province is relatively more balanced, and the regional disparities of inconsistencies have changed from expansion to reduction. The spatial distribution of population and economy in Henan Province shows that the economic agglomeration in the central, western and northern regions is greater than the population concentration, and the population concentration in the eastern and southern regions is greater than the economic agglomeration. The dispersion coefficient of the population-economy inconsistency index in Henan Province has the characteristics of first rising and then falling, indicating that the regional differences of inconsistencies in Henan Province have undergone an evolution process from gradual expansion to gradual reduction.Forth, physical capital, regional policies, regional economic development level and industrial structure are the significant factors affecting the inconsistency between the employment population and the economy in Henan Province. At present, physical capital and regional policy factors have exacerbated the degree of population economic inconsistency;the increase in per capita GDP will reduce the inconsistency index of population and economy, alleviating the degree of regional inconsistency;and the increase in the ratio of the output value of the secondary and tertiary industries will make the population The increase in the inconsistency index with the economy has exacerbated the degree of regional inconsistency.
