Study On Teaching And Research Synergetic Education In American Research Universities

American research universities have not only produced a large number of world-class research results,but also cultivated a large number of world-class talents.American research universities have many effective measures to cultivate talents,one of which is to emphasize the synergy of teaching and research to cultivate talents.Burton R.Clark said in his book called "Places of Inquiry: Research and Advanced Education in Modern Universities,Although there is a clear differentiation between teaching and research,there are good reasons to be certain that in an advanced university complex,There is always some integration of teaching,research and learning." Based on this,this article summarizing the concept and a series of related educational activities of teaching and research synergetic education in American research universities,further analyzes its three synergetic mechanisms of promoting teaching and research synergetic education.It is hoped that it can provide ideas and methods for talent cultivating in China's double-first-class universities.This article is divided into four parts.The first chapter summarizing the origin,development and carrier of the concept of teaching and research synergetic education in American research universities.The second chapter aiming at the loose-to-tight relationship between teaching and research in American research universities,three types of synergetic education activities are introduced in turn: the loose combination of teaching and research;the close combination of teaching and research;the integration of teaching and research.The third chapter tries to summarize the effective mechanism of teaching and research synergetic education according to the “Instability Theory”,“Synergy Effect Theory”and“Principle of Integration ” in American research universities,including driving mechanism,operation mechanism and guarantee mechanism.The driving mechanism includes internal drive and external drive;the operating mechanism is analyzed from the top designer's choice of ideas,the implementation of the organizational manager's actions,and the three-dimensional dual-track operation carrier;the guarantee mechanism includes financial support,environmental support,teacher evaluation and social certification.The fourth chapter mainly discusses the enlightenment of the synergetic education of teaching and research in American research universities to the construction of China's double-first-class universities from three aspects: the state,universities and teachers.The state should strengthen the action orientation of the synergetic education policy of teaching and research?innovate the form of sponsorship and improve the planning and design of evaluation;At the university level,we must first formulate a strategic plan centered on the synergetic education of teaching and research,secondly set up a curriculum system that reflects the synergetic education of teaching and research,and add evaluation indicators that reflect the synergetic education of teaching and research in teacher evaluation;At the teacher level,teacher should establish the concept of teaching and research synergetic education,and adopt the method of teaching and research synergetic education.in addition,teacher should reflective the process of teaching and research synergetic education.
