According to the needs of social development,the 19 th National Congress of the CPC put forward the fundamental task of “cultivating people with morality”,which contributed to a new surge of high school education reform.Geography core literacy is the values,essential character and key ability that students show by solving real situation problems.Region is the starting point and objective of geography research.Therefore,regional cognition,as the basis of the four core literacy,is the core way of thinking and ability in geography curriculum system.In this case,to explore effective teaching methods to cultivate students' regional cognition became an urgent task.The topical context teaching is a teaching method that integrates thematic context,problem-based teaching with inquiry learning,and focuses on the overall development of students.Therefore,this research constructs a teaching strategy for thematic situation teaching to cultivate high school students' regional cognition,which can meet the needs of current geography teaching and has practical significance.This study analyses domestic and foreign research literature on topical context teaching and regional cognition,determines research ideas,and defines related concepts.Based on the current geography teaching situation and teaching background,this paper first discusses the relevance of using topical context teaching to cultivate high school students' regional cognition,and then analyzes the current situation of regional cognitive training and topical context teaching that applied to the status of regional cognition cultivation through interviews with teachers and questionnaires of students.Main problems existing at present are found and bring inspiration.Based on this,the teaching principles,preparation strategies and implementation strategies for cultivating high school students' regional cognition using thematic situational teaching are proposed.The teaching principles mainly include: the principle of student subjectivity,the principle of deep inspiration,the principle of unity of knowledge and action,and the principle of situational transferring.The preparation strategies mainly include: studying the curriculum standards to deepen the regional cognitive understanding;exploring the theme materials,condensing the regional cognitive situation;dividing the level and grade,and specifying the regional cognitive goals.The implementation strategies mainly include:creating a situation and identifying clues of teaching topics;bringing in a situation to preliminary cultivate regional consciousness;using the situation to cultivate a regional summary analysis;sublimating the situation to form a regional development evaluation;Transferring the situation to promote regional knowledge transferring;relying on the situation to detect regional cognitive literacy.According to the teaching strategy,the case "Sustainable Regional Development-Anji Beautiful Countryside Construction in Zhejiang" is designed,implemented,and its teaching effect is also tested.The test results show that the use of thematic situational teaching to cultivate high school students' regional cognition is effective,and it can provide a feasible solution for geography teachers to cultivate high school students' regional cognition.
