Fair educational problems have increasingly become the focus and emphasis of the social attention,The educational equality of men and women is a part of the equal educational opportunity and has also received widespread attentions from the society.Primary and middle schools are the main period to construct gender concepts of the students.Textbooks,as the most popular cultural media for students,play an inescapable role in the socialization of gender roles of the students,and have a great impact on the students' growing health.Many research experts in our country have explored the gender differences in textbooks from a gender perspective and have achieved plentiful and substantial achievements.However,most research are inclined to the study of liberal arts textbooks,less research are inclined to on science textbooks,and very few research are aimed to mathematical textbooks.Compared with the mathematical textbooks in the primary school,the mathematical textbooks in the middle school have fewer illustrations,examples,and background materials.Therefore,we cannot rely solely on the research methods of primary school textbooks—the frequency analysis of gender content in textbooks.In this thesis we focus the mathematical textbooks of Jiangsu Science Press in the middle schools and study the gender differences mathematics textbooks in the junior middle schools from the questionnaire survey of the perspective of the students.This thesis is divided into five parts:In the first part we expound the basis of the topic selection and the significance of the topic selection,and summarize the relevant research status at home and abroad,and clarifie the research problems and research methods of the thesis.The second part is an introduction to explain the related concepts(textbook,gender,gender differences)and theoretical basis(the psychological theory of educational equity and gender differences)of the study.The third part is the research design,expounding the research ideas,research methods,research objects and research process of the survey.The research process includes the design of the questionnaire,the test of the reliability,the validity of the questionnaire and the process of the questionnaire survey.The fourth part is to analyze the data results of the questionnaire,mainly to analyze the gender differences in the arrangement design,problem design,material appearance and the influence in the mathematical textbooks in the middle schools.In the fifth part we give the conclusions of the thesis and some suggestions to textbooks and the teaching education.Firstly,we summarize the results of the questionnaire analysis,analyze the influence of gender differences of the textbooks to the students,and explore the reasons from the cultural background,editors,and inspection mechanisms.Then,we propose four suggestions for the improvement of the textbooks: the state shall improve the relevant policies of the review,the editors shall establish a correct gender concept,the school should pay attention to gender awareness education and the teachers should use various educational means to adapt the gender difference in teaching.
