Promoting Research On Parent-child Communication In Floating Families

In recent years,parent-child conflicts have become more and more common.The deterioration of parent-child relationships and the frequent occurrence of family tragedies due to poor parent-child communication have come into our field of vision.Compared with non-immigrant families,the parent-child communication situation of immigrant families were even less optimistic.Parent-child conflicts were more likely to occur due to the limited educational level of immigrant children’s parents,the lack of awareness of parent-child communication,and differences in the social environment between parents and children.Therefore,it is necessary to carry out professional social work practice for the parent-child communication of immigrant families,to help immigrant families improve parent-child communication and promote the harmony of parent-child relations.Based on the communication stance,family system theory and cognitive behavior theory,the study analyzed the problems of parent-child communication in immigrant families by questionnaire,non-structural interview and participatory observation.Based on the current situation of parent-child communication,parent-child conflict situation and cognition of parent-child communication,the present situation and needs of parent-child communication in immigrant families are analyzed,and the reasons for poor parent-child communication are discussed.The survey found that the immigrant family parent-child communication time was insufficient,parent-child emotional communication was not good,communication concept was old-fashioned,the awareness of active communication was weak,lacked of communication skills,communication effect was not good,conflict resolution ability was weak,single channel for searching help.The study designed the parent-child communication skills improvement group,from the parent-child communication cognition,change communication stance and learn communication skills three aspects of intervention,after six group services,parent-child communication was effectively improved.Using family sculpture,simulated family talks and other techniques to arouse the parents of immigrant family to understand the importance of parent-child communication,improve self-esteem,adjust family members’ communication stance and adjust family rules to solve parent-child communication problems.The results show that Satir’s family communication model plays a positive role in intervening in the parent-child communication problems of immigrant families.
