| Subjective well-being refers to the overall evaluation of people’s emotional and cognitive quality of life, and it is one of the important indicators to measure the positive mental health of individuals.Relevant researches showed that the current sense of well-being can positively predict the learning ability, academic performance and school adaptation of young people.Junior high school is an important period of individual physical, mental maturity and the development of well-being.Therefore,it is of great significance to find ways to improve junior high school students’ subjective well-being and reveal the factors and development laws that affect the group’s well-being for promoting the positive and healthy development of junior high school students’ physiology and psychology. The family is important in the daily life of junior high school students. The previous researches on the family focused on parental rearing patterns, family environment and family structure.Compared with it,the role of family rituals is easy to be ignored. In order to explore the relationship between family ritual and junior high school students’ subjective well-being and its mechanism,a hypothetical model of family ritual affecting well-being mediated by parent-child communication was constructed.415 junior high school students from two middle schools in Yantai were investigated with the revised family ritual questionnaire, positive and negative emotion scale, life satisfaction scale, and parent-child communication scale,SPSS24.0 was used for statistical analysis of the collected data, and Mplus7.4 was used for chain mediated effect test. The relationship between them is analyzed and discussed. The main research results are as follows:1.There is no significant difference in family ceremony,parent-child communication and subjective well-being between junior high school students in different grades and whether they are only children or not,but there are differences in grades: the family ceremony,parent-child communication and subjective well-being of junior high school students in grade one are significantly higher than those in grade four; There are differences in gender, boys are significantly higher than girls in family rituals and father-child communication.2.Family rituals affect junior high school students’ subjective well-being through four ways. The first way is that family rituals affect their subjective well-being;The second path: family rituals indirectly affect subjective well-being through mother-child communication; The third path: family rituals indirectly affect subjective well-being through father-child communication; The fourth path: Family rituals indirectly affect junior high school students’ subjective well-being through the chain intermediary effect of mother-child communication and father-child communication, that means family rituals can affect father-child communication through mother-child communication, thereby affecting subjective well-being.The results further explain the relationship between family rituals and junior high school students’ subjective well-being and its intermediary mechanism, and provide some inspiration for improving junior high school students’ subjective well-being.Based on this, this study puts forward the following educational suggestions:(1)parents could update the concept of family education and enrich family education activities to create an interactive situation of family rituals for junior high school students.(2)parents could communicate with their children more effectively, and they could improve father-child communication through mother-child communication.(3)The society should form a joint force of social education and jointly improve the subjective well-being of junior high school students. |
