With the gradual advancement of the new curriculum reform with the basic concept of "attaching importance to the development of knowledge structure and cognitive ability".Teachers are called on to pay attention to students' interest and learning methods,highlight students' dominant position and develop students' personality.let student learn from discovery,actively construct knowledge and solve practical problems with some certain extent.Physics is a subject based on the experiment whose content is most from life.That is why experiment should be attached importance to.Physics experiment teaching based on STS education in junior middle school not only embodies the characteristic of physics subject with the development of the times,but also can increase students' participation in class.Furthermore,It is possible to improve students' interest in learning physics and cultivate the students' ability to use physical knowledge to solve practical problems,which is also beneficial to student's lifelong development.This paper analyzes the meaning of STS education and investigates the current situation of physics experiment teaching of junior middle school based on STS education in Qujing,Yunnan.The results show that both schools and teachers mainly focus on theory rather than practice and that the experimental teaching is rigid and that teachers' experimental innovation ability needs to be improved,however,the students have strong interest in the physical experiment.According to the regional situations and my personal teaching experience,I summarize the following physicsexperiment teaching strategies which are on the basis of STS education: use the daily objects to innovate and improve experimental equipment;use modern technology properly,including the multimedia technology and DIS technology;make full use of the extracurricular experiments,combining common sense in daily life to explain the experimental principles such as integrating local ethnic customs like the October festival of the Hani,the Water-splashing festival of Dai,the Torch festival of Yi.Through the effect analysis of teaching results and teaching skills,it is concluded that the junior middle school physics experiment teaching based on STS education is helpful to improve students' ability of applying physics knowledge to solve practical problems,practical ability and innovation consciousness.It has a great impact on students' sustainable development.
