In recent years,the relations between China and Myanmar have been developing steadily,and the number of people learning Chinese in Myanmar is also increasing day by day.In the long time that comes along,the enthusiasm of the Burmese people to learn Chinese will continue to grow.However,it is found that quite a number of Burmese learners have some problems in acquiring Chinese tone pronunciation correctly when studying Chinese,to improve the situation,this thesis systematically and scientifically analyzes the errors of Burmese learners in learning tones by means of experimental phonetics and tries to find out the causes of these errors and gives some effective suggestions on tone teaching on this basis.According to the experimental results of this thesis,elementary school Chinese learners in Burma will produce errors in every tone when they acquire Mandarin tones.The experimental data and images show that the Burmese primary school students make fewer errors in the first tone.The main errors are that the pitch of the pronunciation is not good,and the starting point and the ending point are both low.The numbers of the errors that are made in the fourth tone are only second to the first tone,and the main problem is the ending point is not lower enough than it should be.The second tone and the third tone both have lots of pronunciation problems.Although the tone pattern of the second tone issued by most of the speakers is rising,the starting point and the ending point are relatively low,failing to meet the standard.Therefore,the starting point is not high and the ending point is not high,which is a common problem for Burmese learners in learning the second tone.The errors of the third tone are as follow:1)Wrong tone pitch,the starting point and the ending point are neither too high nor too low;2)confusions between the second tone and the third tone;3)confusions between the third tone and the fourth tone.Based on the discussion and analysis of the experimental results,this thesis summarizes four possible causes of Chinese tone acquisition bias,which are negative transfer of the native language,the difficulty of the Chinese phonetics itself,factors of learners themselves and the influence of the Chinese teachers.On this basis,six kinds of suggestions for Chinese tone teaching and acquisition are put forward,which are gesture method,tone-displaying method,contrast method,perceptual training method,out of order singing method and exaggeration method.These methods are expected to help Chinese teachers in Myanmar to carry out targeted Chinese tone teaching,and to help Chinese learners in Myanmar to better learn Mandarin tones,to reduce the errors during the acquiring process.
