Musical rhythmic ability,which is basic and significant,plays a significant impact on both music major and non-musical major,adults and children.From the macro-development of human beings,rhythm can promote the balanced development of human body and mind;In terms of the development of people's music ability,rhythm ability is the foundation for music learning,music performance and other behaviors,so the importance of rhythm ability development is comprehend without being told.In the study of rhythm teaching in China,the current teaching cases and related research focus on young children,but the author believes that rhythm ability,as the basis of musical ability,should cover all ages.Rhythm ability should develop continuously with age,while there should be teaching methods and teaching design in accordance with that age.In the research and comparison of rhythm teaching method,the author finds that Orff sound gesture has great potential to cultivate senior students' rhythm ability.According to the form and content of Orff sound gesture,this theory is in line with the psychological and physiological development characteristics of junior students even senior students.Based on this,the author explores the effectiveness of Orff sound gesture to improve the music rhythm ability of junior students via empirical research.This study adopted the experimental research method,taking Zhongxu School affiliated to East China Normal University as the experimental sites,via synthetically considering its specific teaching experimental conditions,selecting the eighth grade students as the subjects,and randomly determined Class 1,Grade 8 experimental group while Class 2,Grade 8 as the control group;after determining the subjects,the experimental group and the control group were pre-tested to obtain the data to confirming that there was no significant difference in rhythm ability between the two groups.Then the experimental group was carried out eight weeks of teaching intervention,the teaching content was advanced Orff sound gesture teaching content,and eight weeks after the experimental group and the control group were tested;According to the data analysis,despite there was no significant difference in music rhythm ability before the teaching experiment,after the teaching intervention,the post-test data of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group,which fully indicated that the effect of teaching intervention was obvious.Through the comparison of the dimensions of the scale,it is found that the changes of the performing dimensions are most obvious among the three dimensions:auditory perception,auditory visual transformation and execution.Through the above experimental results,it is proved that Orff sound gesture is effective for improving the music rhythm ability of junior students,and the most significant effect is for improving the execution ability of the music rhythm ability.The author could conclude that this study proves that Orff sound gesture is one of the effective ways to improve junior students' music rhythm ability.
