With the strengthening of my country's socialist spiritual civilization and the deepening of education reform,aesthetic education has increasingly become one of the topics that people are eager to pay attention to.Aesthetic education is an important part of the party's educational policy,and it is also an important aspect of the establishment of morality in colleges and universities.It plays an important role in promoting the overall and healthy growth of students and providing the driving force for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.It plays an important role in promoting the overall and healthy growth of students and providing the driving force for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.Aesthetic education in colleges and universities is an indispensable and important aspect in the process of talent formation in universities.It is related to and different from moral,intellectual,physical,and labor education.It has a common law of education and teaching,but also has emotionality,imagery,and freedom.Features of sex,fun,and pleasure.There is an internal connection between aesthetic education and ideological and political education in colleges and universities,which are mainly manifested in: the sameness of educational goals;the similarity of educational content;and the complementary nature of educational methods.Since the 20 th century,Chinese society has experienced profound changes.Based on the development stage of society,this paper explores the dual educational functions of aesthetic education since the 20 th century according to historical stages:on the one hand,aesthetic education has its own educational function,on the other hand,aesthetic education has its carrier educational function.From the historical perspective of reviewing the development of aesthetic education in China for more than 100 years,this paper summarizes the role of aesthetic education in the development of society.Aesthetic education in Colleges and universities has the function of Ideological and political education.Through aesthetic education in Colleges and universities,it can penetrate into the individual and social dimensions of Ideological and political education function.The individual dimensions of its function are embodied in value oriented function,moral cultivation function,personality shaping function,stimulating innovation function,and regulating constraint function;The social dimension of function is to spread the mainstream ideology,promote the harmonious development of society,promote the development of productive forces,create a good economic environment,inherit excellent traditional culture,cultivate deep national feelings,establish a good ecological concept,and promote the construction of ecological civilization.Since entering the new century,especially after the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the construction of aesthetic education in Colleges and universities has achieved good development,but it is undeniable that aesthetic education in Colleges and universities is still a weak link in education,which is mainly affected by the education concept,education environment,education system and education teachers.Therefore,to a great extent,it weakens the effective play of the ideological and political education function of aesthetic education in Colleges and universities.It is not only an important mission to cultivate qualified socialist builders and successors,but also a great prospect to realize the road of rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.Therefore,we should build a long-term mechanism to give full play to the ideological and political education function of aesthetic education in Colleges and universities by renewing the educational concept of "educating people with aesthetics",creating the educational joint force of "educating people with aesthetics",improving the top-level design of "educating people with aesthetics",and strengthening the team construction of "educating people with aesthetics".
