Primary science education is of great value in cultivating primary school students' ability of independent exploration,practice,and innovation and creativity.It is a powerful way to implement our country's cultivation of innovative and practical talents,improve national scientific literacy.However,the current status of primary science education has not yet reached expectations.Combining with front-line observation and literature analysis,there are problems in primary science education such as relatively simple curriculum teaching,insufficient inquiry in the curriculum teaching process,and simple grasp of scientific knowledge as the result of learning.To a certain extent,this has affected the teaching effect of primary science courses,hindered the improvement and development of learners' thinking,and caused learners' thinking to be in a low-level state.In response to the above problems,this research starts from STEAM education and focuses on the design and application of the STEAM learning activity framework for cultivating higher-order scientific thinking for primary school students,so as to promote the cultivation of students' higher-order scientific thinking and improve the teaching effect of primary science courses.First of all,starting from the connotation of higher-order thinking,combined with the characteristics of primary school science courses,it's concluded that the higher-order scientific thinking of primary school students is composed of critical questioning,independent inquiry,innovation and creation,self-regulation and problem solving;Secondly,analyze the feasibility of STEAM education for cultivating higher-order scientific thinking in primary school through the theoretical explanation and empirical process;then,based on the basic elements of primary school scientific activities,the process of scientific activities under the STEAM education and the key points of STEAM activities for cultivating scientific higher-order thinking,design STEAM activities that cultivate primary school students' scientific higher-order thinking: situation presentation,problem establishment,collaborative design,inquiry practice,evaluation and reflection.At the same time,designing activity resources as learning support to promote the development of thinking.Based on this,this research constructs a STEAM activity framework that points to the cultivation of higher-order scientific thinking in primary schools,and designs corresponding learning activities and activity strategies based on the framework to cultivate learners' higher-order scientific thinking.Finally,through three rounds of action research experiments to modify and improve the framework and strategies,according to the activity framework and primary school science curriculum,select the three "exploring the mystery of seven-color light","different night light",and "what can magnets do".The theme carries on the activity case design and the practical application,and then analyzes the scientific higher-order thinking and learning effect according to the process and result evaluation,and adjusts the deficiency.The practical results of the case show that: the STEAM activity framework that points to the cultivation of higher-order scientific thinking in primary school can cultivate learners' higher-order scientific thinking in primary school;it can improve the teaching effect of primary science courses.The paper is divided into six chapters: Chapter 1 is the introduction,which mainly introduces the research background and problems,the research significance,the research status,and the research methods and processes;Chapter 2 is the definition of related theories and core concepts,which mainly elaborates the theory of situational cognition,learning by doing theory and educational theory based on brain science,as well as defining the core concepts of this research,STEAM education and scientific higher-order thinking;Chapter 3 is the feasibility analysis of STEAM education to cultivate scientific higher-order thinking;Chapter 4 is The construction of the STEAM activity framework that points to the cultivation of higher-order scientific thinking for primary school students: situational presentation,problem establishment,collaborative design,inquiry practice,and evaluation and reflection activities;Chapter 5 is practical application,and three rounds of experimental action research are carried out according to the framework to modify and improve;Chapter 6 is the research summary and outlook,summarizes experience and reflections on the research conclusions,and proposes further research outlook.
