Physical education teaching method is a working method that teachers implement in order to complete teaching tasks and improve teaching quality.In school physical education,whether physical education teachers can correctly and effectively choose appropriate teaching methods is the key to affecting teaching quality.The Ministry of Education proposes to concentrate the content of physical education on the three aspects of "church","hard practice" and "regular competition" The traditional teaching method commonly used in school physical education is mainly based on students’ imitation and repeated practice,while the competition teaching method organizes students to practice in various forms of competitions,so that students can master sports skills in an entertaining and competitive atmosphere,and stimulate students’ Interest in learning and at the same time cultivate students’ tenacious will.This article mainly uses experimental methods and questionnaire survey methods,taking the students of the table tennis club in the first grade of Beijing Ba Yi Middle School as the experimental objects,dividing the students into experimental groups and control groups,and conducting a 15-week teaching experiment.The purpose is to study the game teaching method to achieve a good teaching effect in the learning of table tennis class for junior middle school students,and to test whether the method is suitable for junior middle school students.Conclusion:(1)In terms of the physical fitness of students,the teaching effect produced by the competition teaching method and the traditional teaching method is not obvious.In the special quality of table tennis,the teaching effect of the competition teaching method is better than that of the traditional teaching method.(2)In terms of basic technology,both competition teaching method and traditional teaching method have achieved good teaching results,but competition teaching method is more conducive to improve students’ service technology.(3)In terms of competition performance,the competition teaching method is more effective than traditional teaching methods to cultivate students’ tactical awareness and flexibility.(4)In terms of interest in learning table tennis,the competition teaching method may stimulate students’ interest in learning more than traditional teaching methods.Suggestions:(1)besides teaching skills and tactics,teachers should also carry out some special quality exercises such as step-by-step catching the ball,frog leaping,holding dumbbell arms and so on.(2)When teaching basic skills,teachers can combine traditional teaching methods with competition teaching methods,which can not only increase students’ interest in learning,but also improve basic skills.(3)According to the students’ learning situation,they are divided into groups according to the heterogeneity in the group.The test at the end of the semester can increase the mutual evaluation in the group.Students can also regularly watch videos of table tennis games in the classroom and let students explain the games.(4)According to the students’ learning situation,they are divided into groups according to the heterogeneity within the group,and the test at the end of the semester can increase the mutual evaluation within the group.You can also organize students to watch the video of the table tennis match in the classroom regularly and let the students explain the game.
