In June 2021,the Ministry of Education issued the "Guidance on Teaching Reform of Physical Education and Health",which states that in order to improve the overall quality of teaching and to implement more effective teaching,physical educators in the new era should adopt the integrated and systematic teaching ideas and methods of "learning,practice and competition" to deepen the reform of physical education.In the context of this reform,teaching methods should be adjusted,based on the traditional teaching method,to find more teaching ideas,"learning,practice,competition",competition teaching method and the organic combination of the physical education classroom,so that students enjoy the fun of competition,to develop students’ physical and health literacy.Based on this,this paper applies the restricted competition teaching method to the teaching of college table tennis elective course,grasps the law of motor skill formation,innovates the organization form,and improves students’ learning interest,sports effect and competition ability as the main objective of the classroom in limited school hours,and finally achieves the purpose of improving teaching quality.This paper adopts the methods of literature,expert interview,questionnaire survey,teaching experiment,mathematical statistics,video observation and three-stage statistics to conduct an in-depth study.Students from Social Sports 1 and Social Sports 2 classes of Guangzhou Institute of Physical Education and Sports,Class 2021,were divided into control and experimental classes to conduct a 32-hour teaching experiment,with the aim of studying the teaching effectiveness and practical value of the restricted game teaching method from the perspective of "learning,practicing and playing",and providing a reference for the teaching of table tennis in colleges and universities.The purpose of the experiment was to study the teaching effectiveness and practical value of the restricted game teaching method from the perspective of "learning,practicing and playing",and to give reference to the teaching of table tennis in colleges and universities.The results of the study are as follows:(1)The restricted game teaching method in the teaching of college table tennis elective courses is conducive to the improvement of students’ special physical quality in table tennis,and promotes the cultivation of students’ habits and lifelong sports awareness in table tennis.(2)The restricted game teaching method is more effective than the traditional teaching method in stimulating and maintaining students’ interest in learning table tennis,and the former can more effectively enhance students’ subjective motivation and motivate them to participate in learning more actively.(3)The restrictive game teaching method is more effective in improving students’ basic table tennis skills and game ability,and cultivating students’ in-game resilience and technical and tactical awareness in the optional table tennis course.(4)By comparing the experimental class with the control class in terms of learning interest,table tennis physical fitness,basic table tennis skills and competition ability,it is concluded that the restricted game teaching method has greater advantages than the traditional teaching method and is feasible to be used in the college table tennis elective course.After 32 hours of teaching experiments and analyzing the data,the following conclusions can be drawn: firstly,the restrictive competition teaching method utilizes a variety of practice methods and competition forms to effectively and flexibly control the difficulty of teaching,allowing students to have a certain degree of challenge and fun while learning,and to a greater extent,mobilizing students’ enthusiasm and interest in learning table tennis,fully tapping into their subjective initiative;Secondly,the various restrictive conditions of the restrictive competition teaching method permeate every stage of learning and practice,practice and competition.From the first stage of learning,such as forehand attack movements and the explanation of restricted leg movements,students can improve their understanding of key movements in learning,to the second stage of restrictive exercises,designing simpler,more reasonable,and effective practice methods for various techniques,thereby improving the basic skills of table tennis,In the third stage of competition application,the use of individual and multiple basic techniques or restricted competitions with multiple competition systems will enable students to have a deeper understanding and comprehension of their awareness,movement,and application of basic techniques during the competition.
