As China’s national sport, table tennis has always been loved by people of all ages and is a sport with a wide mass base.In college public sports courses, table tennis is also one of the popular courses when students choose courses. The sport of table tennis requires a high degree of mastery of technical action details, among which, the stability of the hitting point is an important indicator to evaluate the technical level of table tennis, and it is also one of the biggest difficulties faced in the learning process. The "color area" method is based on the directivity principle of "attention" in psychology, selecting different colors to highlight the hitting point area, guiding the attention of the practitioner,so that the practitioner can form a visual contrast between the two colors of the hitting point area and the table tennis table,so as to improve the control ability and return quality of the student’s hitting point. Therefore, how to combine color in the teaching process to help students improve the stability of the hitting point requires scholars to explore more effective and more suitable practice methods. In this study, teaching experiments, questionnaires, mathematical statistics and other methods were used to train students in the bottom-line area according to the purpose of the experiment. In this experiment,a control group and three experimental groups were selected, the control group chose the traditional teaching method to teach, and the bottom line area of the students in the other three experimental groups was corresponding to red, yellow and green.Taking the recording of students’ forehand and backhand hitting points in the successful area, the number of color areas and the number of mistakes as the evaluation index, the basic situation of students, weekly backhand push and forehand hit point data were collected, and the data collected by the experiment were analyzed by chi-square analysis and repeated measurement of variance, and whether the "color area" method had an effect on the stability of the hitting point of students’ backhand push and forehand attack, and whether there was a time difference between the three colors on the learning effect of students. It also reveals the adaptability of the three colors to students’ learning, which provides a reference for selecting the color of the landing point in the teaching course in the future. The use of this teaching method will provide new teaching ideas for table tennis teaching in colleges and universities, and has theoretical and practical significance for innovating table tennis teaching methods in colleges and universities. The results of the study are as follows:(1)After the experiment, both the experimental group and the control group had improved the stability of the hitting point of the backhand push and forehand attack technique. The improvement effect of the stability of the hitting point of the experimental group was better than that of the control group, indicating that the "color zone" method was helpful to improve the stability of the hitting point of the students.(2)The "color zone" method has an obvious promoting effect on improving the stability of students’ hitting points.Red has the most obvious effect on improving the stability of students’ hitting points, while yellow and green have no obvious difference between groups in the effect of improving the stability of students’ hitting points. In the teaching process, red can be preferentially selected to assist students in teaching.(3)The introduction of "color zone" method in the curriculum is conducive to the formulation of specific and easy-to-achieve teaching objectives according to students’ practice level, improving students’ learning enthusiasm and enhancing the classroom learning atmosphere.
