Educational reform has been on the development agenda since the promulgation of the General High School Biology Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition).Teachers in the new era should adapt to the development of the new curriculum reform and establish a well-targeted teaching model with the ultimate goal of building students’ core biology literacy.Teaching and assessment based on the two-way itemised list aims to overcome the empirical and blind nature of traditional teaching in order to improve the scientific and effective teaching.The use of two-way itemised tables to assist classroom teaching can help teachers to clarify the key points of knowledge,the depth of explanation,the requirements of the curriculum and the students’ situation,so that they can design teaching activities in a targeted manner and improve the effectiveness of teaching.The use of two-way itemised tables to guide teaching evaluation can help teachers to make effective and accurate assessments,and enable them to move towards the path of "accurate diagnosis and development".This study firstly analyses the relevant literature,clarifies the current situation of domestic and international research,the research background and defines the concept of two-way itemized table from its usage;then investigates the current situation of using two-way itemized table among secondary school biology teachers in Chengdu,analyses the reasons that prevent teachers from using two-way itemized table to assist teaching and proposes solutions,and then proposes the construction of " The two classes were selected to be at the same level and were taught by the same teacher." The students’ development was compared and analysed.The whole research process can be broadly divided into three stages: preparation,teaching practice and data analysis;the preparation stage includes the design of questionnaires and interviews,as well as literature research to understand the development of the two-way itemised form and strategies for its use.The teaching practice stage includes the use of the two-way itemised form to guide lesson preparation,design of teaching,post-lesson assessment,question setting and paper analysis.The data analysis phase focused on the comparison of student performance in the two classes using SPSS25.0.The final conclusion of the study combined with the literature and practical tests is that teaching and assessment based on the two-way itemised list can effectively promote students’ development.
