With the continuous deepening of curriculum reform in the new era how to effectively cultivate subject core literacy has become an important task facing the teaching of basic education in China at present.Big concept is beyond the scope of specific knowledge in the discipline,carries the unique thinking mode and value concept of the discipline,has the central generalization and integration value,and has become a hot spot in the current education research.At present,the core quality of morality and rule of law in junior middle school is difficult to be truly implemented in the way of one-lesson one-gain.By considering the unit as a whole and designing teaching activities with a focus on the formation and cultivation of core literacy in the subject,we have shifted from ’knowledge-based’ education and teaching to ’literacybased’,which is an important way to achieve the goal of ’teaching’ to ’educating’.This is an important way to transform teaching knowledge into nurturing literacy.Therefore,in the process of implementing the discipline’s core qualities and realizing the discipline’s nurturing value,unit teaching has unique advantages and values,and has become a powerful fulcrum to pry the current transformation of morality and rule of law classroom teaching in junior middle school.In a new era of literacy orientation,the teaching design of morality and rule of law unit in junior middle school based on the big concept is an inevitable requirement to cultivate the core literacy of the subject,highlight the value of education of the subject and deepen the teaching reform.This study consists of five parts: in the first part,the background of the study is introduced,as well as the significance of the study,the current status of domestic and international research on big concepts and unit teaching design,and the research method,innovation points and shortcomings of this study are explained.In the second part,a definition of the concepts related to big concepts and unit instructional design is conducted,the value fit between big concepts and unit instructional design in the subject of morality and rule of law in junior middle school is analyzed,and the relevant theoretical foundations are elaborated.In the third part,clarify the ideas of teaching design of middle school morality and rule of law units based on big concepts,and specify the pioneering and guiding role of big concepts.The relevant processes and the principles to be followed are constructed,including the principle of student subjectivity,the principle of literacy orientation,the principle of gradual progress,and the principle of integration,and their value and significance are analyzed.In the fourth part,an operational process for designing a junior secondary school unit on morality and the rule of law based on big concepts is constructed,which consists of four main components: extracting big concepts based on the content of current teaching materials;determining the teaching objectives of the unit and focusing on big concepts;designing unit teaching activities,constructing big concepts;using unit teaching evaluation;and deepening big concepts.In the fifth part,according to the operation process,the corresponding principles are followed,choose the teaching module of "Growing in the Collective" in the seventh grade,and use this module as an example of the teaching design of moral and rule of law unit in junior middle school based on big concepts.
